Eh, there’s ways to explain stuff and natter on about mechanics, but sometimes you gotta do straight up theatre of the mind first.

“Ok you wanna try this out? There’s this big angry freak made out of eye tentacles and it just crashed your awesome party and started burninating the guests. Do you wanna bonk it like a piñata (fighter stuff), pin the needle on it’s weak spot (rogue stuff) or break out your fireworks and blast it with some explosions (wizard stuff)” and just ad lib it from there.
