We’ve known since “Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep?” that Luna has a “dark side” in the form of the Tantibus that she keeps inside her. So yeah, at least part of her is going to get trapped in a dream-catcher.

Yeah same. The show actually has some very creative ways with how they operate in their lives like the royal Pegasi escorting anyone with the use of air carriages and Spike sending and recieving messages with his magical fire.

That won’t solve much. There are many fantasy cartoons where you’ll always see a form of human-style invention or civilization in there somewhere and this one is no different. Yes they use a lot of magical-based tech and their own inventions in this show, but in the end, some of it is still inspired by human ingenuity. They’re magical animals that live like humans in houses instead of out in the wild and eat like them. I mean they live in places that have parody locations inspired by human names like Las Pegasus and Manehatten. Long story short, as much as I agree with you, it’s pointless to say that when these characters literally live, talk, eat, and work like humans.

As far as I know it only catches nightmares, allowing good drams to pass to the sleeper trough feathers and other hanging things.  
This actually make sense since there is a darkness on Luna’s cutie mark and Nightmare Moon could still be hiding there.  
Also it may mean, that Luna’s butt is nightmarishly thick.

Is THIS how to catch her?
