I don’t care that much about it, but I hoped for some lead ins to explain why people think this.
What? :c
Don’t get it, sorry.

Yo, most people base their theories on correct information, man. <_<
all around me are familiar faces…
You say it like I’m worts person on site.
Sigh…
she has a smol waist c:
Actually her alicorn puppet is slightly taller than the usual pony puppet. Leaner as well.
mate, I would explain but, this will just go on.. and I think it has gone on long enough as it is.
in short, what I’m saying is that the show tends to cut off or retcon stuff that is within the show itself (alicorns is a great example of this), so I expect the book to be far less than that of the show’s own stuff. That’s why I consider the book optional, not to mention that, only one of the many writers on the show wrote it.
“How optional the book is compared to the show?” What do you mean?
@Agent Luna
Indeed.
even if that’s how that is, it sounds needlessly complicated and convoluted. You can tell me a character isn’t immortal, yet they haven’t changed at all how they look in over 10 lifetimes of a human, but I’d need some good reason behind that to accept it.
maybe you can explain what you mean by that? and by that I mean, just spit it out already, Why are they long lived but not immortal and what does that mean, or rather, how is it different? nevermind how optional the book is compared to the source material that is the show, at least tell me something that I don’t know.
Edited
Nah, by the way they are not immortal just long lived, you should read the journal of the two sisters, it good. c:
yeah, but, the flashbacks that are 1000 years old, from events before Luna was banished, it’s hard to say the same thing applies there, unless you mean now that they stop growing at some point and their immortality kicks in after a certain body maturing, kinda like Elves in LotR, or whatever.
do we really need that much explanation though, for just this one thing? seems a little ridiculous, even to someone as interested with fantasy themes as I am.
I thought part of why Celestia and Luna are so tall is because they’ve been alive for thousands of years, its okay for someone’s body to change a bit during all that time. Or again, maybe they’re just special cases.
either way, I fully expect the show to give us an occam’s razor on this. The simplest explanation makes the most sense here, all this magic affecting appearance seems trivial, or if taken seriously, kind of disturbing.. like, it actually implies inherently superior biology over the other races of ponies. I’m not really sure I’m all about that, I’m just willing to accept that Luna and Celestia are freakishly tall, which, there’s obviously nothing wrong with that, they’re just the exception to the rule, they’re not the rule in and of itself.
I think that’s why I don’t like this theory, it seem to be about Luna and Celestia being the rule of how alicorns should look and not the exception, even though wee can clearly see how different they are from the other two in the show and that they always looked this way, for almost a thousand years.

Twilight’s getting taller.
I believe with enough black magic, desperation or frustration, Celestia and Twilight can grow up, like Nightmare Star and Midnight Sparkle-Celestia size.

I said ,“quite possibly yes,” I am not 100% sure. o:
@Background Pony #A984
The power level of the pony doesn’t necessarily equate to their height just look at glimmy glam (starlight wonderful nickname c:)
And what if she don’t grow anymore?
Still going to say Luna is the small one?
We don’t know how much alicorns can/will grow overall.

How do we know they will grow any bigger or all gain fancy manes?
