The sandwich in the show was made with unpeeled red potatoes, and there seemed to be multiple kinds of pasta: spaghetti and macaroni as well as lasagna.

I would recommend barbecue sauce, otherwise be sure to get a pizza sauce designed to be a pizza sauce and not just any old tomato sauce, and stick to sweeter, basic flavors.
@Dirty Bit
Small chunks dipped in a little butter. Great with sausage. Sweeter sauces are best (I can’t take too much marinara, so I used barbecue sauce).

Making whatever crazy dish my wife wants is a key part of our relationship. Crab Rangoon soup, peanut butter mashed potatoes, apple pizza; she thinks it will be good, I make it good. Plus I’ve always wanted to do something like this, and making a daffodil and daisy sandwich did not drive me like this. (I’d still like to, though. I love cooking with rose.)

Definitely posting here for the defictionalization, and not to show off my cooking prowess. Though I am skilled enough to hold my own in the kitchen, I’m afraid this was pre-made ingredients. In case you’re still interested, it was sourdough bread, butter, lasagna noodles, potato salad. Potato salad often gives you the choice between mayonnaise and mustard, try to find a different one or mix the two (usually labeled “Amish” in my locality if you’re buying it pre-made). Cook the lasagna, toast or grill the sourdough with the butter. Bread butter-side in, three layers of lasagna with potato salad in between.
Thank you, i absolutly love pineapple pizza, so apple pizza might be nice as well.

First off, let me just say you are a top rank, incredible husband.

Wait, wait, wait, wait, apple pizza!? I mean, I put bananas on mine at one point during childhood (Thank you, Doug), but apples!?

Pegasi ponies need all the calories they could get.
As Phil noted in an earlier comment, surprisingly sweet.
