For me personally, a certain gross-ass roleplayer (who shan’t be named) ruined Diamond and especially Silver long before the show had a chance to.

The reason we don’t see DT or SS in the show anymore is because they have no purpose. Their whole existence was to be the antagonists to the CMC. Because of the half-assed “reformation” in CotLM through a shitty four minute song, the writers brushed 5 seasons of bullying under the rug and used DT’s mother as a scapegoat to absolve DT of the consequences of her own choices. The only other time we even hear mention of DT’s mom, is when Babs threatens to tell her and SS’s mothers about their “bad attitudes” which causes BOTH fillies to gasp and step back. This indicates that having their mothers told about their attitudes would be BAD for both DT and SS. This directly contradicts Spoiled’s actions in CotLM. Funny how the mare ONLY exists for the one episode that she gets blamed for DT’s choices. No, this is simply half-assed writing. No amount of “Blank-flank-hating” parenting excuses DT’s actions, ESPECIALLY bullying a Pegasus over her inability to fly. Something that CANNOT be blamed on DT’s mother, and yet is also brushed under the rug.
 
DT and SS had no personalities outside of being bullies, and rather than build them up as characters, the writers chose to just toss them away.
 
CotLM ruined the CMC, DT, and SS in a matter of minutes, and shall remain as the absolutely worst episode in the series. Which is saying a lot, because seasons 6-8 are absolute trash.

IIRC, when I’ve heard “stiff” referring to a corpse, it’s generally just some generic dead body, not one anybody used to know.
 
When I hear a specific, named person being referred to as “a stiff”, it’s always been in the sense that they need to lighten up.

She’s not just a “complete bitch”, she’s flat-out emotionally abusive (and physically abusive is a common theory that hasn’t been ruled out, which would explain why we’ve barely seen Diamond at all since “Crusaders of the Lost Mark”.)
