Meanwhile, I imagine many of the older fans would complain about them, even if they had no effect on the show/comic. (Remember those princess alicorn toys whom never became characters in the show?)
 
Alot of fans seem to hate every alicorn introduced, except Luna. (Though, I see a few hate on her too sometimes for being “overrated.”)

I agree, this fandom has always been on drama since the beginning, i personally think that the season 3 was regular not bad not good just regular.
 
But things like CMC getting alot of hate or like Cadance and Shining Armor weeding getting hate too was really weird to see that in 2012.

All she needs are those drama masks and she’d be the Queen of Chaos.

There’s always been fandom drama, it just didn’t start becoming widely noticeable until around Season 3, which is still the most controversial season. (And not just because of Twilicorn. Some didn’t like the episodes, or things like Babs being a karma-houdini, Spike being the butt of jokes, King Sombra being a more subtle villain, ect. I wasn’t really too bothered by that season personally, but I did find a few episodes a bit mediocre. Not to mention, Rarity didn’t get an ep’.)

Same, but I guess some found them too saccharine/kiddy at first. Took people awhile to warm up to Cadance & Shining Armor too. (I remember back before the Season 2 finale aired, everyone assumed it was going to be some cutesy toy-ad wedding episode with no conflict whatsoever. Boy, were they wrong!)
