As long as Hasbro focuses on character building it’s all good. Don’t make them
Vapid and shallow for Pete sake. If they make them sweethearts just as we’ve come know them in pony form and EQG form then all will be fine.
At least on the adult side of the fandom. I for one don’t get tired of them just having slice of life talks. :)
bye

@ChuymaruZ
They may have started off strong, then faded. I know Friendship Games did not sell well, and Legend of Everfree was not well distributed, probably as a result.

It maybe a general shift in the market as well; Monster High isn’t selling as well as it used to and its reboot wasn’t well received. And its sister series, Ever After High, I think is being discontinued. Even Barbie isn’t doing as well as it used to, and Mattel is instead focusing on the DC Super Hero Girls.

So this will either be what the EG dolls need to make a comeback, or the market is simply moving away from more traditional fashion dolls.

@Whatthehell!?
For all intents and purposes, Hasbro has been making good character designs from the very start of FiM. Lauren Faust might have penned them, but Hasbro owns it. Sooooo…

If at that I give you the reason, but at least I think that Habro already understood that it is useless to want to copy a concept like the one of Monster High, its design already seems more proper of them, in fact was one reason why the dolls of the regular line failed, the minis showed that you can copy a model like the Japanese nendoroits well and give them your own style.

@Whatthehell!?
but why no bacon hair?

I suppose it is only the artistic concept of the merchandise, that type of drawing is based on Japanese designs where the colors are pastel shades without many chromatic details, is very common in the industry of products for girls, in addition they move away from the concept of the Monster High, at last I do not think the designs will change much in the series or movies to come, but if it is rare to see Sunset without its feature two-tone hair.

It is a matter of opinions, the style of drawing is now more “nice” more focused female audience, I say obvious that this is a series for girls, so far DHX did a good job with the films, the series will not know until is released, we do not know if it will be made by Boulder Media or DHX or both, perhaps one does the series and another some movie.
