and then Tauriel’s - I mean Rarity’s kiss brought Kili - I mean Applejack back to life and they lived happily ever after.
What do you mean that’s not how the Hobbit ended? That’s how it ended in my heart.
So yeah…. battle of the five armies left me emotionally wrecked with emotions that didn’t know where to go. So then this happened.
Time to go draw some more scenes because i don’t need rest.

They sort of addressed it in the movie. So she could stay with Aragorn, Arwen chose to remain in Middle Earth and live and die as a mortal (it being her choice, since she was half-elven), rather than sail into the West like the other elves were doing.

The reason I objected to that part of the Hobbit movies was the whole idea of an elf/dwarf romance went against everything Tolkien had written about Middle Earth. For one thing, they were fundamentally different races (both Men and Elves were considered children of Illuvatar, but Dwarves were created by Aule the Smith). For another, there was a lot of bad blood between Elves and Dwarves dating back to the 1st Age of Middle Earth and a brutal war the two had fought over possession of one of the Silmarils.

Now why would you change the only way that situation could have ended? An elf has no business falling in love with a dwarf. Actually an elf in that setting has no business falling in love with anything other than another elf. It only ends in sorrow.
