“Yeah?” Rainbow Dash grunted without leaving her dumbbell.
The young stallion snapped to attention. “Corporal Greystorm of the 4th Royal~~”
“Cut that crap, kid. I’ve already read your file. And don’t salute. The BHs scouts love to snipe officers in their free time.”
“BH, ma’am?”
“Bucket Heads. Ya know, for those creepy helmet they wear? Nevermind, so you’re the fresh meat command sent us, uh?” The mare quickly looked at him head to hooves before a mirthless smirk appeared on her lips. “I expected something better.”
The younger pony narrowed his eyes. “With all due respect, ma’am, I was the best flier of the academy~~”
“So was I.” The mare cut him, extending her artificial wing. “And I still barely made it out alive. Trust me, newbie. There’s a lot you still need to learn, so stay sharp, pay attention to the veterans, stay close to my tail when we’re out, and you may be able to return home for Heart’s Warming Eve.”
