Me too
I believe the term is paraphilia and it’s not regarded as a disorder. Heck, loving inanimate objects goes all the way back to Pygmalion.
I’ve already got rid of all my other fears and phobias, like being afraid of spiders and ghosts, but I still can’t stop being globophobic.
For doing so, I have to start popping balloons, and this is something I really don’t want to do. It’s related to my childhood and it’s like a birthday parties’ PTSD, where the other kids would pop all the balloons while I would flee away from the popping and try to save some balloons for me because I would think they are cute and beautiful. This compassion towards balloons grew up on me as I was getting older and now I’m living with it inside me.
I know this may sound like a psychological disorder to some people (thinking an inanimate object is like a living being), but for me this is really special. Balloons are awesome toys and I don’t feel like destroying such a shiny and colorful little piece of joy…

Popping balloons is always sad, if not necessarily scary. It’s rough to be a nonpopper. Especially around New Years. After dropping my mother off at the airport after she stayed for a month, finally starting a lovely balloon room.
Other people do like to play with balloons and have them around, however they are still terrified of the bursting noise. These persons include Snails || and me||

Generally, globophobics will refuse to touch, feel, or go near a balloon for fear it will pop.
