I have been burned before and it kind of makes me cautious. But I’m not going to lie, shipping can be fun to discuss about sometimes. I usually just prefer talking about it to close friends though considering things are usually rather chill when we talk with one another. But I guess talking about it with other people has its merits too.

That’s what I think too for the most part. I’m not too picky with ships but I do have a few strong favorites here and there.
As for the ones I dislike, I just let things be and try my best to not bother fans who like the stuff I dislike. There’s really no need to anyways. Let them have their fun, y’know?

Josh Haber? The Fox Brothers? Who are those people?
As for the staff liking Rarijack, I’m with the BP on this one, just because the show staff pairs up the two characters in certain situations (or even ships them), doesn’t mean it’s going to be a canon ship.
I’m going to be honest with you. I don’t think any of the canon main characters is going to be in a longlasting “be all, end all” ship anyways, at least when it comes to their pony (and dragon) counterparts. Compared to Equestria Girls, Friendship is Magic’s target audience is younger. Also the show focuses more on platonic love between friends, not romantic love (it’s right there in the title). Pairing up the main characters romantically with someone could even potentionally drastically change up the fun character dynamics they have now. And while Lauren Faust doesn’t work on the show anymore, I kind of liked how one of her “rules” was to not have the show focus on romance (especially since there’s so many shows aimed at girls that have romance as one of their main focuses). I don’t hate romance by any means, but it’s just nice to see something different.

I’m sorry you had to put up with that. But I feel the need to say that a loud vocal minority of fanbrats don’t speak for the entire fanbase. I’d like to think that a majority of fans (of anything really) are the silent majority. (I could be naive and wrong, but I’d rather think that a lot of people just want to enjoy the things they like in peace.)

Come now! You grow strong from the flames of the thin skinned and those who deny the REAL OTPness of your ship!

Truthfully, I myself believe any ship is a good ship, with some standing out as favorites. It’s just all in how you sell it.
