It’s not a new style, it’s just what it should look like from that side. If you see her facing to the left in this special (like when they’re walking down the hallway in Canterlot), then she looks like she always did.
Mirror Magic and EqG1 simply reversed her mane when she was facing right, but they fixed that here.
