Intriguing. I suppose you could argue for an etched glass circle as a reticle, subtending around 18 milliradians, give or take, to represent the typical dispersion of 12 gauge buckshot out to 100m or so. Shotguns are generally regarded as close range weapons, though, really at their best at less than half of that, and at such distances it is still hard to beat the 19th Century answer: a front sight that is just a little brass bead.
