When did trixie ever try to kill herself? And no, No Second Prances does not count, even if she couldn’t have pulled off the trick on her own, that does not mean that she intended to kill herself, especially since there writer ways former to survive. She may not be great at magic, but surely she could, for example, use her telekinesis to make the manticore vomit her up.

Indeed. You could justify their actions as response to provocation, but it was still mean.
Fortunately the entire cast, including Trixie, began to grow.
In fact I believe the episode where Trixie began to actually practice magic displayed some growth. She began to mature because Starlight Glimmer made her aware of her behavior.

She probably had no role model beyond a distant father she knew only because he was a public figure. If it is true he is unaware of her existence, it could be rather tragic. Maybe she has been trying to reach her father through her shows.

I feel sorry for her. She never met her father, but knows who he is. And she realizes she is capable of using magic, but not good enough (Since it is rumored she studied in the same institution as Twilight, but failed) to be really famous.
So she tries to follow her father’s hoofsteps and finally meet him. I always felt a bit of pity toward her, but the more we know, the worse it seems.

She was not as much for the money as she was for attention. Her outrageous claims were because she wanted to be seen.
Considering how painful being invisible is, I understand.

Actually I blame Snips and Snails for the worst parts of both moments of her as a villain. They were dangerous enablers and blind zealots.

Tbh even in early seasons it’s not hard to see why she acted the way she did. To me it seemed like she was a homesless pony trying to make some money. I don’t like Boast Busters but Trixie wasn’t the problem with the episode.

Yes, I see where you’re coming from (although I disagree with your interpretation of some of those points). But honestly I’m kind of with ArmadilloEater on this. She’s gotten substantially more love in recent seasons, and despite starting off as a character I did not like at all, I actually like how her friendship with Starlight developed. It may not mean I won’t occasionally have a chuckle at her misfortune, but she’s certainly had her happier moments too and I think there are plenty of people who appreciate that.

Also, it’d take some real skill to turn “Ha ha, she’s the bastard daughter of a complete loser!” into something that’s somehow her fault.

It just goes to show how great of an illusionist she is. Before she was even born she made her father disappear.

I don’t think it’s as bad as you say, you giant sourpuss. Yes she’s been the foil to other chars in the past, cause she was a joke villain, but that has changed. Now she’s had some pretty interesting and even touching moments with Starlight, she’s shown herself to have more depth than we knew, and at this point she’s almost a main character. I’m pretty sure she had as many eps in season 7 as some of the other main 7.

Now we know she was shit at magic cause of lack of training (she teleported the fuck out of that table), she’s one of the most interesting in terms of character traits (she’s bitchy and she knows it), AND she’s had a lot of love in the EQG series.

And now we got a parent for her, proof that writers do care! Why Big Jim wants to insist on the deadbeat father angle is beyond me, but hey, that’s just Jim, he’s a known troll.

TL;DR: at this point you should change your avatar to rarity, ya drama queen.

I mean, let’s go over her appearances and mentions:

She’s a hack whose white lie during a show turns on her thanks to some idiot kids, loses her only possessions and runs out of town humiliated.
Is humiliated in the local tabloid
Comes back with a mind-affecting talisman, reveals her property was vandalized, she was humiliated wherever she went, worked hard labour to make ends meet, and is ultimately proven to be a powerless fool without the talisman
Comes back, makes a friend, her animosity towards Twilight gets the better of her, and then tries to kill herself
Goes on an adventure with her new friend, is constantly taunted as being useless, and ultimately is only useful as a diversion, getting captured
Is shown, again, to be inept at “real magic”, and completely useless without Starlight around
Is shown to be inept at stage magic, so is now in canon utterly useless
Is shown to have a father just as inept as her that doesn’t even know he has a daughter, implying her childhood was shit as well

Her every appearance in the show is to use her to make other character’s look better. I guess that wouldn’t be a problem in most shows, except she’s one of the very few characters in this show that at points is actually relatable as a “real person that could actually exist”. For anyone that’s a fan of her for such reasons, that may even identify with her for any number of reasons, and not just waifu-ism nonsense, it’s kinda shit that her every new appearance just makes her look worse or makes her reality more depressing.

It really is at the point where it’d be better for her to just be a background character with no lines; as soon as she’s treated as a character that exists, she’s just the buttmonkey.

Also, it’d take some real skill to turn “Ha ha, she’s the bastard daughter of a complete loser!” into something that’s somehow her fault.
