Well… I do draw and I have used many programs throughout the years, this includes Photoshop, Paint Tool SAI, Inkscape, and MS Paint.

If I want to draw on a leaf, then why not? If I want to draw in the ground, then why can’t I? I agree that there are much more comfortable ways to draw with many more tools, but precisely, the lack of them also enhances the creativity because you have to find new ways to make the same thing that you would do in other environment. And as well, simply because someone tells you to stop using MS Paint, doesn’t mean that you also should, because as well, you aren’t really harming anyone by doing so.

using the right tools is almost as important as being a good artist. if you’re stuck with bad tools it’ll slow you down and waste your time, even if people ooh and aah over it. that’s all a bad tool will do though, is slow you down, and frustrate you. quality of your work’s pretty much only determined on how well you can figure out how to draw what you see.

so try different programs and if you like one best then great, but don’t use something just because “people made great art w/ this”

it’s only people posting like 1 picture a year that make me worry they might be trying to draw by shooting carefully aimed marbles to knock the pencil back and forth across the paper. or something. nootaz seems fine.

i wanted to try some lighter shading on this one, but yeah shading a lil wack. there’s a layer of white on top of everything as well cuz i wanted to give it a magical feeling. the weeping willow tree is really hard for me to get a basic shape and like i didn’t want to make it stand out to drastically, and for the flowers yeah i could have done better, i just had like the colors n shape down for me.

Just because you can doesn’t mean that you should, I’m sure that someone could draw an amazing work of art of a palm leaf or something, doesn’t change the fact that they would be a hundred times better served using paper instead.

Oh i saw someone say otherwise, nevermind.

Your brushes are probably fine honestly, i don’t use firealpaca but it looks like you just need to compress it a little bit less and use harder shading. Your anatomy is fine in other pictures so i don’t think its a real problem (but in this one its a mess). The flowers should be rotated or something to give more variation if you don’t want to draw them over and over and pony heads are usually more oval from the front.
I wouldn’t even know where to start with the willow.

Medibang is just about the same as FireAlpaca! :D They both use MDP files, so you can switch between the two with ease.

Oi, Noot if you ever need any advice or help with brushes on FA I can try to help out a bit. :> Also, The same company made something called Medibang Paint. They have some really nice brushes for free. You’ve been improving, and I can’t wait to see what is in store for the future.

i dont use ms paint i use firealpaca with anti aliasing off ~~cuz its hard to find good brushes for firealpaca and antialiasing made my art look fuzzy~~

Well, it’s to feature something cute or funny or epic or whatever that’s Safe and a number of mods thought would be nice to have featured. Giving an artist a bit more exposure’s a bonus.

As for why this particular image is attracting the attention of some very “special” people, well, some people offend easily.

so the “oh but i didnt expected dis to be featured hurr durr” its kinda idiotic at this rate

and now for the love of everything that is good in this wasteland of a world, lets keep our bloody mouths shut till another thing gets featured so noot can enjoy the godam moment, since all these wall of texts defending arent really better than the ones atacking (yes i did a wall o text too, such irony huh?)

Honestly, I think the answer to that last point is because of the very fact it got featured, drawing their attention to a piece of art that they normally having or couldn’t see previously.

Looking through his gallery a lot of his art is better than this, i have to wonder why you featured this one.

Regardless of your opinion about technique, if it’s more stylized or not, is that really important in this case? Does that makes it instantly “bad” and unworthy of some exposure, just because it doesn’t applies for some to the “art quality standard”? I’m going to be honest, in my opinion, this piece needs quite some improvement, like the shadows which doesn’t blends so well with pixelated art due of being one with very rough style and the other soft, the anatomy that it’s not enough clear below the head, among other details, but still I find it adorable.

I wasn’t really expecting as well to see some art like this to be featured, but I’m happy that it is, because it also includes artists that puts their heart into some piece and that would have never thought to be in this position. Why to ruin their moment now? Why these kind of comments have to appear when it’s featured and not when it’s normally posted on the site? If you think it’s bad, instead of only complain and reiterate it, make of it something better like explaining the reason why you think it’s not so good, in order that the artist can improve in the future.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with constructive criticism. But as said plenty of times before, when you started acting harshly and say things like “it’s bad” or “why was this even featured” it begins to kose value. Noot definetly put a lot of effort into this. I want her to feel proud for accomplishing this. Hell, this has been going on every few features.

I swear, there’s been more of these issues goimg on featured images. :/ I understand if you want to critique it, but if you’re gonna judge it because it isn’t up to quality like other art pieces… damn. Just let the artist hace their time to shine for now.
