Equestria’s biggest problem is that the whole world runs on magic and they’ve lived under a monarchy for over a millennium. Ponies don’t know left or right, politically, and their economy works largely on providing a service of some kind that other ponies need or want. The Apples provide a sizable chunk of Ponyville’s food supply, while Rarity provides desirable items of fashion. Taxis and trains are, likewise, services provided. Equestria doesn’t appear to manufacture anything, however, though ponies are certainly capable of it.

Equestria’s economics are influenced by both Celestia and magic. It makes particulars, like taxes, hard to nail down.

Whatever bird that's dumber than a duck. Imagine I made the effort to research that and make a new badge for it. - Either a complete retard or a full time moron, it's hard to tell which and frankly I don't care either way

I would argue that it isn’t. Democracy isn’t even as good as people say it is among we demi-individualist humans. For herd animals like the ponies, it would be totally anathemic.

You’re right. I misspoke when I referred to Socialism, most likely because my time in the military has led to me developing a habit of conflating and confusing it with Totalitarianism. The Equestrian economy is probably better characterized as “hard laissez-faire” where the nature of individual transactions is entirely determined by whatever is convenient at the moment. In fact, using the definition of Socialism as I understand it is completely wrong, although yours sounds much more applicable. The workers do own the means of production, but there’s no unions or even uses for them which kind of throws another wrench in conventional understanding of the concept.

Incidentally, I find it fascinating that slavery or indentured servitude is still a thing. Although that’s not quite as much so as my internal game of “When is Zecora’s mistreatment going to send her to the Dark Side, and how might that manifest?”. Which, in turn, leads onto the icing on the cake of “why I emphatically DON’T want to ever visit Equestria”: I get sexually harassed a lot as it is. The idea of some spastic, emotionally unstable pervert coming after me with the power to fly, teleport, turn invisible, punch through walls, or completely control my mind or body is frankly, absolutely terrifying. Let alone what the actual villains (many of which are apparently nice or ordinary people having an episode) could and would do.

When your ruler literally controls the sun, it’s pretty easy to not require a democracy. It’s been implied that other countries have left Equestria alone largely because ponies themselves are benign and Celestia herself also affects their lives by way of the sun.

Celestia herself exercises a monumental amount of restraint for an ageless being of great power. Her embodiment of the Elements of Harmony is why Equestria prospers like it does. If it were anyone else, the situation would be completely different.

It’s just so surreal given the context. Blueblood is a privileged product of an absolute Socialist Totalitarian Monarchy (which in reality are invariably dictatorships but this isn’t reality) and thus a primary beneficiary of the system, so his opposition to it is entirely to his detriment. In that regard, his behavior is more like a Leftist’s, even if his words are more right-wing. I guess you could call it a picture of Horseshoe Theory which would actually be hilarious.

Equestria’s economic system is a bit weird. There is clearly a strong state sector. The economic policies seem to line up better with European social democracy than with socialism - except for the fact that Equestria isn’t democratic, that is. I know most Americans use that word a bit differently, but for me, socialism is characterized by large-scale workers’ ownership of the means of production and the abolishment of the labor market (‘hire and fire’). In Equestria, a labor market still exists, as do private markets in general, and the means of production at least aren’t always in the hands of the workers. We don’t know how much the existing private markets are subject to government regulation either. All in all, I at least hesitate to call Equestria socialist. Then there are also large-scale single-family businesses like the Apples that don’t even hire wage workers outside the family and seem more like a remainder of feudalism - which means there has never been an Enclosure in Equestria. Thus, it might be neither capitalist nor socialist. The country somehow managed to progress to modernity without adopting an economic ideology, and thus, economic life in Equestria seems extremely diverse. It almost makes you wonder how it’s held together at all. (I guess having a ruler who doubles as a living histocial memory helps a bit.)

I’ll grant that it’s a common mistake of the less educated members of the Right to confuse Leftism/Socialism with Liberalism (no matter how much I try to straighten out that misunderstanding). After all, “Liberals get the bullet too.”

And yes, I agree that his take on communism is very odd. Everyone knows that nobody makes a profit from communism, because that literally defeats the point of communism.

Most of those from which a political affiliation can be deduced at all, that is. Most of them are indeed unpolitical drivel. (The latter particularly applies to anything related to mares or sex. That stuff indeed proves nothing. Leftists can be assholes too.)

Here are the ones that at least somewhat point to a right-wing affiliation:

https://derpibooru.org/1720182 (sorta-kinda anti-immigrant)
https://derpibooru.org/1693258 (using both socialist and liberal as slurs; something neither liberals nor leftists would do)
https://derpibooru.org/1632701 (this in particular is something no leftist would ever say)
https://derpibooru.org/1731462 (this one is only very weak evidence; there are liberals who use socialist as a slur too)

On the other hand, there isn’t really any evidence for any other affiliation, be it liberal or far left. (Out of context, I guess you could take https://derpibooru.org/1696022 that way - but that would still mean Blueblood has a very odd take on communism. I think someone in the comment section called him a Dengist. Possible, but I don’t buy it.)

There is another argument in my favor though: The Blueblood tweet meme is fairly clearly a MLP take on the fake Trump tweet meme. This is all incremental evidence, but taken together, it at the very least makes my interpretation very likely.

Really? Then which of its many definitions is Blueblood referring to? It’s not like there is much to go off here other than he’s about as retarded as you might expect from a noble.

That’s likely not what equality means in this context. There are very distinct differences between the concepts of “equality of rights”, “equality of outcome”, “equality of opportunity”, “equality of access”, sameness in the sense of empirical likeness (what you mean), and logical identity (A=A, which is trivially never true for two different people even if they both are dead). All these different ideas can be and have been called “equality”, yet they mean completely different things.
