The character regression has been going on longer than Starlight’s been around, though. People blame Starlight because it makes her look better when the simple fact is she gets stuck holding the idiot ball just as often. The difference is she doesn’t have the experience the Mane 6 do so she doesn’t look as stupid when it happens to her.

EqG is how I got into FIM the show and moreso a factor into Gen 4 as a whole so that meme isn’t wrong to me.

Nah, I’m not really interested in watching teenagers going to high school like so many other cartoons and tv shows, having adventures about going to the beach or taking an exam. It is pretty funny seeing so many people complaining about one character, it is even worse than the time when Twilight turned into an alicorn. Meanwhile, Sunset is almost a goddess for you.  
It is actually pretty boring for me to watch the mane6 having almost a normal life in a school. While I can enjoy some of their movies, specials and songs. I just can’t see the fun in watching those shorts… It is cliché.  
It almost feels like you are turning The Lord of the Rings into High School of The Rings. Making the world less magic, restricting the characters and etc.

It sticks out like a sore thumb.  
Twilight, Discord, etc all underwent character regression for plot convenience and make Starlight looks superior in comparison…  
Why? I don’t understand why are there fans even able to defend such notion…

I don’t typically voice my distaste for characters I don’t like because I feel like that’s my opinion, and I don’t really need to share it.
 
I used to find Maud terribly uninteresting, for example, despite the fandom’s immediate love affair with her. Now that they’ve made her funny, I like her more.
 
If people want to like Yona, I’m not going to judge. I like Starlight, and I would find it tremendous if people would give me the same treatment in kind. People are different from each other and have different ideas of what good qualities are. And you know what? I think that’s awesome. It’d be pretty boring if we all agreed with each other all the time like some sort of hivemind. But we don’t need to crap on each other, either.

Seriously though I don’t think me saying we don’t like Yona is a sin, it’s not like I’ve killed her off or something. You are allowed to like her. Just try to be mature otherwise prepare for a sh!tstorm.

Thank you! I thought i was the only one to hate Yona, everybody seems to be going ga ga over her for some reason, even though she is the MLP:FiM equivalent to a minion. Probably because they find her s3xually attractive and just want a yak in there little harem (even though she’s probably under 16)

I agree, they are meant to be watched alongside each other and both are cannon to each other, despite what the haters say. Both have there ups and downs, but that’s what happens when your show has been running for about 8 years. Also I like that the show is focusing on Starlight Glimmer has Twilight has been ruined, though somebody did tell me that Twilight was ruined on purpose to make people warm up to the GlimGlam, but hey it worked and she’s just entertainment so I’m ok with that.

I can honestly kinda get on board with this. I still love FiM, but I’ve found season 8 to be really wanting. Instead of the Mane 6 teaching all they know about friendship, they instead seem to completely forget what they’ve learned so we can see them be stupid in front of the students. I feel like this could have been handled a lot better.
 
As for the students themselves, I like Silverstream and Ocellus but the rest are wasted potential so far. Smolder serves to tell us how much dragons suck, Gallus is a jerkass like all griffons (barring maybe Gabby) seem to be, Yona is tremendously annoying and Sandbar has the personality of a wet paper bag.
 
There are good episodes, don’t get me wrong. But Equestria Girls is just doing better right now in comparison.

For the record, I didn’t say EVERYTHING about season 8 is terrible.  
The Hearth’s Warming Club did make care about Gallus.

Why do they always say that everything is terrible? There is nothing wrong, the season 8 is good. Just because they are upset about something they don’t like.

If there’s more then 6 then the human world will become Equestria, not exactly like Equestria but you know what I mean, magic keep leaking into the normal world new villain will appear and new character will appear to create new story  
Who knows maybe one day Equestrian magic will effect the environment in the human world.
 
About that portal at Canterlot high, they literally have a book about magic portal maintenance that appear in Rainbow rocks. Whoever put that book there in the first place, they know their is a portal to Equestria.

Does it never occur to anyone there could be more than 6 orbs escaping from the statue?  
(after the ones seen in LoE)?  
 
Keep in mind, the crack is still there as the Wondercolt statue is never rebuilt.
 

For me I just watch both of them is hard for me to say which one is better, because the pony mane 6 and the human mane 6, they both have a little different personalities. Example, Pony RD having fun riding rollercoaster in Grannies gone wild but the human version n rollercoaster of friendship she’s afraid.
 
I agree season 8 is not that good like season 7 but there still half of the seasons left.  
Pony mane 6 already achieved their goal so the story to tell about them is already too little, that’s lead to introduction of new character the young 6 which I called them. New character new story, it’s take time to know them but they will grow on you in the future episode.
 
Equestria girl however they still have 6 magic orb floating above their sky and four of them already found which left only two, one of them maybe going to appear in the next EQG series/special and the other one still floating around above them.  
After a few shorts and they find all of the magic orb maybe they going to end it or New character will appear to make new story about them or reboot world incoming for EQG.

God, thank you for agreeing with me and made me feel like I’m not the only person who has been left with a sour and bitter taste from watching the students throughout half of Season 8. I literally skip every scene they appeared in, because of how aggravatingly obnoxious their characteristics are. For me, Gallus is the worst one of all, next to Yona.
