Between her decaying house and her generally unkempt appearance, I get the impression that she really hadn’t been taking care of herself after Twilight left.
But honestly I sometimes wonder if it isn’t for the best and I should just be grateful for the grass on this side of the fence.
Looking as if one is doing well when being left alone can hide some of the worst sort of despair.
… Apart from her house possibly being in disrepair given how knocking on her door went.
