I honestly don’t think of it too much but I think its a bit inane people push that moment from s7 as if it is some “gotcha” moment. It really isn’t. As I said, it ptetty much is defacto non-canon, and people who fight tooth and nail about how canon it is are not going to get much in return. Even if the writers say it’s canon it’s a hollow victory and the show won’t ever acknowledge anything from EqG aside from some cameos, and we know from Confalone that Sunset won’t appear in the show at all. All in all being canon just kinda makes twilight look like a jerk for ignoring the existance of her supposed “student”.

I should have made it more clear. I meant that she doesnt visit Equestria as a leisure activity. As in she only went there for a reason and on her on-screen appearances only. In neither scenes of her character in Equestria have we seen her do any interaction with anyone that isn’t the Princesses, Twilight, and Glimmer. As mirror magic showed she doesn’t visit Equestria on her spare time seeing as she was rusty to being a pony thus it’s not farfetched to say she doesn’t actually know those characters.

She has no business being in the show. She was always an EqG character only and has no business being in FiM. She didn’t even have that much interaction with her FiM links. Princess twilight stopped being a thing in EqG for the most part and their interactions are mostly done off-screen and Celestia wasn’t even on her mind for years until Forgotten Friendship decided to bring it up.

Don’t expect Sunset to appear in the Main Show. With only 1 season left, Sunset has to much unexplained baggage to just shoehorn her into the show.
 
If they ever were going to put her in, they would have long since done that.

Did you forget that sunset once again return to Equestria to find answers of how and why her “human” friends don’t have memories or her, specifically of those memories of sunset being good, in forgotten friendship?
 
The one I find strange was the she and princess Twilight went to canterlot in matter of seconds(considering that Twilight is an alicorn, I don’t know if she teleport that far even if she teleporting someone else with her), rether then them taking the train which would probably take hours, if they did take the train they’d have get to the station, which from Twilight’s castle, it was on the far side of ponyville, which they’re bound to bump into one of the mane 5, not bumping into one of them is rare if you considering the size of ponyville(like from the pilot, it didn’t long for Twilight to cross paths with pinkie pie, which for Sunset it would’ve been most likely)
