Nope. Basically just don’t petrify, Discord and villains still get comeuppance, things stay the same, cut epilogue and let the viewer fill in the blanks.
Well i won’t mess with starlight glimmer or spike or both of them at late least i know so far…ok you two?

They continue their practices. I’d like to pretend Twilight wasn’t made the ruler of Equestria everything goes on like normal, no epilogue. The viewer is free to imagine who the mane 6 marry, whether the 4 villains were ever rehabilitated etc etc.

Agreed, but nope (let’s ignore him betraying them to Tirek the second he promised him power). No comeuppance for freeing 2 villains from Tartarus, 1 villain from the nether and uniting them with an idle Chrysalis. Teleporting Sombra past ALL the crystal ponies’ defenses? NOPE. Hooking up three villains with a super powered weapon? NOPE. Having the Tree of Harmony (one of his few weaknesses destroyed?) NOPE! Nearly dooming the entirety of Equestria? NOPE. HE GETS TO DECIDE THE FATE! Quality writing.
My head canon is when Discord has the audacity to suggest a millennia long petrification…
Celestia retorts: “No, Discord. You tried to reform these… * FOUR * * REVIVES SOMBRA * villains… AND YOU WILL SEE IT THROUGH! You will take these four to your chaos realm and do so. And should they still run amok in Ponyville after you will be responsible for their actions!”
Discord: “B-but! BUT!!!”
Celestia: “No buts! Reap what you sow!”
Discord: “Fine…” * snaps a defiant group of villains away *

Discord: “I think petrification would be a kinder punishment than THIS.”

Discord at least deserves a HARD bonk for that. Along with making him help repair the damages his plan had done.
I recant this statement after seeing the finale. Kill him.
He’s the living embodiment of chaos he needs to cause mischief.
It’s almost like you can be reformed and not be a goodie two shoes! Yeah he goes over board and I don’t like him as much as I did after he betrayed the main 6 with Tirek, but I can appreciate a character that’s reformed still having some mischief about him.
Also fairly certain the students were in no real danger. He’s pretty much a god that can warp reality. The bug bee and ursa major would be poofed from existence the second they’d actually cause harm. If this wasn’t the case Discord would’ve caused a fatality by now and been turned to stone again.
