Did Rainbow Dash literally teach them that the element of loyalty is epitomized in the sacrifice of one’s life?  
I’m inclined to agree, but also to wonder if Rainbow Dash is plotting some sort of cult or revolution.

I think I know a few people who don’t feel all that great about being alive thanks to the sacrifice of their close friend.
 
Are you trying to say that love is based on how another person feels when they are loved? I know people who were the subject of an intervention who surely didn’t feel loved.
