I used to think this too but then I learned the origin of the term “gender” and that: sex=/=gender. I don’t subscribe to most of the craziness these people tout but I get some of it. (No, I don’t think they deserve their own restroom -use the one of your sex!)

What you’re calling purging I will accurate identify as Natural Selection. You see, when it comes to survival of the fittest there’s multiple factors influencing if a gene is passed on. With humans, a majority of the ones related directly to combat with other animals has been phased out. We no longer have other animals that aren’t humans actively trying to hunt us down for their next meal. We’ve gone beyond that and have our own structures and creations be death traps, unintentionally because humans can make errors and sometimes this ends in death, in which now our survival directly depends on that a majority of the time. (Excluding when humans murder other humans.)

Purging is completely normal in the sense of natural selection. In this scenario, in order to pass on your genes that brought you to the point in your life that you’ve survived the test of life, you have to find a mate. If you’re unable to do this, then everything else has only been for yourself. While that is perfectly fine, if your goal is to find a mate and procreate, then this would be considered a failure. (If that’s not your goal, for whatever reason, no need to worry.)

Humans are very specific about what they want, and it changes with every person you meet, albeit slightly if you did a massive survey. Some people identify different body parts as being more significant in finding a mate, such as hips, breasts, a beautiful face, all of that. Some people want more fat, some people want less. In the end, we have products and services across the board that can assist with all of that and while it does cost money it makes finding a particular mate fairly easier.

Truth of the matter is that you’ll find someone regardless of who you are if you look hard enough. I think that the song Lower Your Expectations by Bo Burnham sums up the entire dilemma perfectly. People are out there, but you’ll have to let up on your grip on expectations, or change yourself, in order to find someone.

Me though? I’m not interested in someone who believes there’s more than 2 genders or that something as specific as sex should be gender neutral. Just not interested in that and I won’t be at all at any point in time. I’m sure these people can find someone, and perhaps they’ll be able to handle parenthood like the rest of the small handful that can.

Natural selection is going to happen regardless of what people want to try and do. This much is a given. It’s something EVERYONE is going to deal with one way or another. I could go to work today, and a pallet could fall on me and I’d be dead. I don’t have any children, and all I have is 2 potential mates. Needless to say, I would’ve been another victim of natural selection that failed to pass on his genes.

I think you’re thinking of actively purging people, and we don’t do that in normal society. We do that in other forms in normal society, like getting rid of livestock that’re diseased.

See, I wouldn’t exactly say that, because the reason I’m refusing is that I don’t prescribe to that type insanity. I don’t think they should be purged by any means, just that myself and quite a few others will not find these types of people attractive in any sense, and would therefor find someone else.
