I’d rather have show-style flash movie than whatever that 3D thing.
i think is appropiate to delay the sequel if that means it will have more budget
also, it’s most likely that S9 and the rest of the series will be no longer produced by DHX, i personally dislike the EG shorts made by boulder, and the premise of the new mlp special sounds awful (which is also being produced by them)

as much as i’m a sucker for 2D animation, i’ll gladly admit that they could totally pull off mlp in 3D as long as they use the right software and have the right artists. nowadays 3D animation can look either extremely good or disappointingly cheap depending on who you go with. had i heard this news years ago i would’ve been super disappointed but honestly after seeing amazing 3D renders from artists like 2snacks and therealdjthed i think a 3D mlp movie could totally work.
