I’d be surprised at a lack of part 9, considering he usually writes in trilogies. 4-5-6 do count as a trilogy, since each one is about the child of one of the main characters from parts 1-2-3.
New Equestria Girls specials will obviously have jojokes from other spin-offs and semi-canon material, like the Jorge Joestar novel, or Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan, or Eyes of Heaven. It will be a fun hunt!
