Dude, this artist is literally being harassed for vocing their personal headcanons and interpretations of many characters because people can’t grasp that the purpose of an headcanon is personal. She never thought to be woke, she just wanted to have fun like many of us when we make our little crimes against canon.

And you know what else, Rarity isn’t even human in her “real” persona, if it was like what you mean then the human version of Rarity should be an albino purple eyed freak with natural anti-gravity hairs whose curls never fade and whose eyes are bigger than her mouth and occupy the 65% of the face. And so everyone that made Rarity human isn’t faithful to her character because she isn’t like this, in this fandom there is a dynasty on re-intepretating character even if they’re ooc, but a black Rarity is what disturb you? (And Aang having an Afro works with the character if you think that in Tibetan practices long and secualr hairs are considered symbol of prosperity and life)

Muslim Fluttershy? Where did the artist said she was muslim? She is just a middle easter girl that wear a stylish scarf like the one that use my grandma for sunny days. And even if Fluttershy was muslim then what should have the canon have to do with it? As I saw in your favs you like Christmas and Ponies uh? You know that in Equestria Jesus Christ never existed? And neither the norse and roman christmas? So why do you contradict yourself? Muslim Fluttershy isn’t as offensive and murderous Fluttershy for Smile, killer Fluttershy from Pony Mov and all the Fluttershy fimfics I am sure you have read. And when was the canon supposed to have something to with headcanons and fan fictions? By the artist’s rule Black! Human Rarity is still in her character, she still got her voice, her gentle manners and still in the canon’s personality.

Did you wrote this and then hit Post without actually knowing Destinytomoon? She literally want just to have their little headcanons that don’t hurt nobody but she got hated and insluted for them. And is still happening for her lgbtq headcanons and her little race headcanons.  
Maybe their ways of telling stories can’t happen in canon, maybe it’s just and only an immaginary story that will never happen.

I’m sorry my tone sounded condescending to you (congratulations on making this about ‘tone’, by the way). But some of the people involved in this conversation have been repeatedly warned or banned for derailing image comment threads in exactly this same way. And most of the people here have been members of the site long enough to know that someone drawing a character black, or gay, or Muslim is not, and never has been, an invitation to whinge on about it. That the conversation “ended well” doesn’t make it appropriate to debate the theme of an image.

Yeah, I do get what you mean. Again, I don’t agree with all of these headcanons, and I don’t think any of you are WRONG for not liking this picture. I was just thrown off with how this got so many downvotes. Most of the time I’ve seen people love the Black Rarity headcanon and the Muslim Fluttershy headcanon, after all.

Oh, I was only referring to why this picture in particular was getting so many downvotes though. I hadn’t actually checked that artist’s tumblr. I do think making them all trans is too extreme. I personally don’t headcanon characters as trans unless if it seems Super Likely. The Mane 6 are all clearly just girls though.

Unfortunately many Artist (not all) but many use the term “diversity” as a crutch or excuse to create art for the sole purpose of Contrarianism,used to gain “woke” points and declare how “progressive” and “open minded” they are but their claims are mostly skin deep and don’t really fit well with the rest of the material.
 
Now whats above isn’t the worst of this stuff, the Twilight,Pinkie,Rainbow Dash and Applejack is pretty good…for this type of art but the Fluttershy and Rarity are defiantly “woke” caricatures of Diversity. The biggest problem with these “head canons” is that they don’t fit with the rest of the lore or characterization unless you also morph that too into a nearly unrecognizable mess.
