I don’t get it. If she indeed raped them - than she truly deserves being punished. But it seems from the link that this all was consensual. And in THIS case she is just a victim of human persecution for me! Consensual love (and sex) is NOT a crime!

actually has there been a reported female teacher on male student that the general consensus about the teacher’s looks is not ‘hot’? almost all the cases i’ve encountered has the teacher at the very least, physically attractive/young.

Actually, on average, a female teacher with a male student is less harmful than the reverse. The reason is that some of the psychological damage done to a sex victim comes not from the act itself, but from society’s reaction to their status. Girls who have been raped by men are seen as “soiled”, “damaged goods” and “scarred for life.” Boys raped by women are seen as “players” with “hella game”, and are often praised. In any case, boys aren’t normally seen as being permanently damaged by the experience the way girls are. If the boys internalize these views, they may not even consider themselves victims.
 
If you’re frothing at the mouth to call me ignorant or sexist or whatever, please re-read what I wrote carefully. I said “on average” - individual cases vary. I said “some of the psychological damage” - not all or even most. And I never said any of this was okay.
 
The truth is that society’s perception of sexual assault does often matter to the victim, and boys get an advantage in that area which often (not always) lessens their distress.

i’ve heard that some of the female teachers getting pregnant due to their affairs with their students. financially and physical maturity speaking, they can afford the child. i haven’t heard a male teacher getting their teenage students pregnant but i can imagine that would be a worse scenario (depending on how young the girl is, are the parents accepting/supportive not to mention keeping it (abortion is a tricky subject))

And there you have it: If the crime is equal, then why isn’t the punishment equal? I’m pretty sure that I’d be equally upset if a man or woman killed my family, and would think that it’s grossly unjust that someone gets a lesser sentence because their plumbing is different.
 
And it gets even worse: You all know what a Freudian excuse is, right? “I should be given clemency for raping those children because I myself was raped as a child.” No one tolerates that when a man commits a crime. When a woman commits a crime however, everyone seems a-ok with Freudian bullshittery.

I gotta say, I feel bad for her. I mean, 22 years? They were only a year underage. In most of the world this would have been perfectly legal. Yet she’s getting charges right up there with manslaughter.
 
And no, I’m not sexist. I’ve always maintained statutory rape is punished too hard for male perps as well.

And yeah, the “double standard” people are a minority. I think some people have that double-standard, because they feel bad for the way women have been treated throughout history, and such. (Women used to not even be allowed to show their ankles.)

No, that’s wrong. Equestria is gender-egalitarian, not matriarchal or patriarchal. There’s literally no indication in the show of one gender being advantaged over the other, socially or economically. We’ve seen plenty of ponies of both genders doing all sorts of things, and there is no reason to believe the social power dynamic is anything other than pretty egalitarian in that regard; both genders are equally influential.
 
Since the current alicorns are female, you could make the argument that they have a matriarchal government at the top levels in technicality, but a matriarchal society? No.
 
Anyway, I’m sure they wouldn’t have a double standard there.
