There’s really nothing wrong with Flash in the first movie that isn’t symptomatic of the problems of the movie himself. They made better use of Sunset going forward, I think they could have done the same with Flash. It’s too late to do it now, obviously, with EG itself ending and everything else that’s left already made, but there’s nothing wrong with Flash that couldn’t have been fixed by just filling in that blank slate a bit.

Exactly! He and Twilight have literally only ever seen each other once, and spoken a couple of words. Her relationship with pony Flash is nothing like her relationship with human Flash, making the two very different.

Just cause we haven’t seen the two as separate characters as much as we have with Sci-Twi and Twilight, that doesn’t mean they aren’t. It’d be like pairing Twilight with Timber Spruce and Sci-Twi with Flash. They just don’t fit like the actual couples do, because even though they’re counterparts, they’re separate characters. I honestly don’t see anything alike about Flash and human Flash besides name and colour scheme.

Yeah but to put in perspective, neither of those two have been given anything too much. Twilight and Sci-Twi have been put in the fron so much we know they’re really not that alike.
 
I just want Flash, any Flash, to do something, maybe some secret hobbie maybe exploring some of his current interest, anything.

But they’re just not the same person. They look similar and have similar personalities and voices, but they’re still two completely separate people. Like identical twins. If Applejack had a crush on Flim, she wouldn’t date Flam because he looked like Flim, instead of dating Flim. That’d be silly. It’s just like that.

We don’t really know how different they can be, they might as well be two drops of the same coffee. If Twi feels awkward with an interdimensional relationship, maybe one local one might work out.

But pony Flash isn’t human Flash. Just like Twilight isn’t Sci-Twi. They’re completely different characters. I’m talking about pony Twilight with human Flash. Pony Twilight with pony Flash just isn’t the same in the slightest.

Most background characters are pretty blank, Flash was just an unlucky victim of bad writing putting him in the front and giving him little to do.

How I feel. Like, would it kill the writers to bring Twilight back just for one episode? There’s a wide open portal easy from Equestria to Canterlot High. Twilight or Flash could go through it any time and see each other. There is literally no reason whatsoever that Flashlight should have died.

To be fair, Flash was in the first movie a bland and blank character with nothing.

Right after his first appearance, fans the world over basically SCREAMED for Flash not to come back, and with each entry his appearances have gotten smaller and more insignificant.
 
Honestly the guys has had zero chance to grow as a character… or even BE a character since the first movie.
 
And looking at all that, it seems to me that the reason Flash hasn’t become more likable, is more down to ALL OF YOU THE ANYTHING!
