You are aware there are VERY few wives that have “huge effect” on husbands carrier? And these that do don’t want to be famous?
When somebody writes article or a biography about somebody famous, then EVERYTHING that helped them achieve their position counts. Even parents are pestered with interviews.
Which is why I wrote that the only way everything makes sense if Jet did not mention Delta at all. Which would be not in-character.

Really? Last party with alcohol and unfamiliar stallions, last time seeing Jet, and she had NO asecurance? What if both of them got drunk, Jet and her went to sleep and some stallion had “sleepy sex” with her? Or somebody gave them rape pills and used them?

That does not excuse her. There are plenty “taken” women on a pill or other contaceptive just so they can have safe sex without condoms or be sure they won’t be pregnant without their consent. It is like Delta had no sex-ed. It is so stupid.

They haven’t went to the party, but decided to get some drinks instead. Which ended up in Delta being drunk and Jet staying relatively sober. There was no reason for Delta to think that Jet would have some “alterior motives” for that, besides just wanting to hang out for the last day.

Are they canon?
I constantly have problem with what is canon and what not. I really wish there was “canon” tag here.

Which is HILARIOUS as this will mean that she will lose these friendships very quickly. I mean, one of core tenents of friendships is that friend CARE about each other. And if you see that your friend is addicted to various drugs, has eye problems and works in bad conditions then you would want to CHANGE their lives for better.

Jet hasn’t changed at all.

And from the perspective of the companies, why should they care if she has a baby or not? It’s not a bigotry. She is just a “worker who may or may not do her job due to certain circumstances”. Why should they care about her having a kid? They have a job to do and they need it to be done. If there is someone more reliable than a “young mother” they should have full right to employ them instead, as they will be much better in achiving thier goal.

Even tough, they have huge affect on the decisions of thier husbands, they still are left much less famous than them.

She was going to the party to spend some time with Jet, right before she was about to leave him. She had no intentions related to sex, since she knew it could doom her carrer.

Mostly her relationship with Trash, Cream Heart and ability to “befriend” other ponies in a bar rather quickly and without a problem.

You know, kinda like everyone expects of thier significant other on a party. He also didn’t have to go “rough” with her. His intention seems to have been only to get her pregnant, of which she didn’t know right after it happend. She probably found out few days after, when useing anything besides abortion wouldn’t work. What we are sure of, is that she didn’t get pregnant with her own consent.

I have no idea what you base that on.

Project leader has to have leadership skills and have sound judgement. Delta probably lacks both.

Not sure, but Apogee knows Delta for a few years now, so she shouldn’t be that “unfamiliar” with her mom’s behaviour. Nothing explains her naivity.

The corporation could assume that she may not be a “loyal worker” if she can decline on a whim.

They could later spread that info in the related community, so other companies would have doubts about her. This one choice essentially made her infamous in her “job” (as she came out as random; a pony who works for something really hard, just to decline the offer last minute).

Having only Jet’s word for “Delta’s Involvement” could be easily taken as him trying to be nice and say something good about his marefriend. You see that happen quite alot in TV, when famous people say that thier significant other has huge influence on them, but it’s rarely taken as something beyond simple “niceness”.

She didn’t use any protection as she was drunk at that time.

With the state she was in (possibly first time drunk), it’s very easy to assume that she had no idea what happend last night, untill it was too late to change it.

The only thing she has issues with, is “entitled” ponies. She gets along pretty well with everyone who doesn’t think of themselves as much of a superior.

With Delta’s knowlege and abilities, It’s easy to assume that she’d become the project leader.

She had too little information about her parents to count her behavior as “naive”.

That was before revelation that he “planned” pregnancy, so it would make no sense. I mean, back then it was an accident, so why “flip-off Jet”? Or steal his baby?

And I say that if such eventuality happened, she would lost her job rather quicky considering she is a wreck of a pony. Can you imagine her working in a team for an extended period of time, considering her abrasive nature, pessimism and lack of constraints?

If anything, those comics shown that Apogee is incredibly naive than being forgiving.

Nah, it has shown that Apogee is extremly forgiving when it comes to her mother and that Delta is rather insensitive and has a problem of “going too far”.
Nothing new was shown in these “canonical Apogeebuse” comics, fanfics already explored thess “characterizations”.

I am talking about the fact that taking few years to raise a foal should not be synonymous with being “pernamently unemployable”, especially with rather feministic society as Equestria. Her being unemployable is simply not logical.

This only makes sense if we imply that “shino-verse” has only one place where she can have a proper job after finishing her studies.
I forgot the name of her major (was it astrophysics?) but if only one place hires after ending education then why such major would be allowed in university? In real life even “gender studies” can give you more work opportunity than that.

It is not “noble”, it is “normal”. For long time if a woman gets knocked-up, then she gets a “extended vacation” to raise a baby. Then when baby is capable of surviving on it’s own, then either woman comes back to work or ends her carrier.
It is somewhat recent trend that workgivers see female workers as inferior to males simply because she could get pregnant anytime. It is still one of bigger talking points among feminists when it comes to topic named “woman in workforce”.

It was a quite decent comic with a bunch of good characterization. The second part was an overkill, but it still showed good character for Delta and Apogee.

I’m not really sure what you are talking about.

Delta was offered a job in a space centre, which she accepted. It’s because of that why Jet decided to get her drunk and pregnant to keep her close. I’d imagine that after that happend, no other company wanted to hire her, since she already declined once, for the sake of her coltfriend and family.

Which is quite noble, for a mare like young Delta.

I still belive that if Delta would find a chance to get a better life (which in her own mind would also be a gigantic “FUCK YOU” to Jet, by showing that she could “do it by herself”), I think she’d take the chance.

I’m not sure where you got this idea that I want Delta to get back with Jet. I never said such a thing and wouldn’t want her to get back together with him for exactly that reason. What I said was for her to move on from the past. That doesn’t automatically mean get back together with Jet, it means leave the past where it lies and work to improve her life.

Physical and mental health go hand in hand, as many medical professionals will tell you. Because guess what, they’re right! If Delta would bother to change her surroundings and get rid of the drugs and alcohol, she would be significantly healthier and happier. This is less conjecture and more fact. If you ever watched the TV show “Hoarders” most of the people are significantly happier with their lives, and subsequently healthier, after their homes are cleaned of extraneous, hoarded junk that they don’t need. It would absolutely be the same for Delta.

I always thought that both Jet and Delta are addicted to more substances than alcohol and tabacco.
To be honest I myself am confused about canonicity of certain things. Simply put the existence of three separate media (old comic, official fanfics and reboot) really do not make this easy.

Yes, somebody has to work there. Where I come from the only people who work at junkyards are businessmen (who delegate subrdinates to do hard work while they are sitting in the office) and “normal” workers (who often have patological lives and junkyard was NEVER their “ambition”). Delta should NOT qualify as a “junkyard material”

If this is how SHino’s Equestria works then I am sad. In real life people with “STEM high-end education” can take few years “vacation” and still nail a job.(especially in budding buisnesses like “aircraft creation” or “rocketry”)

Wasn’t that the case in official fanfics? That she couldn’t nail a job because other companies didn’t want to hire rookies with no experience? (Which makes no sense when rocketry is such “fresh” buisness that you cannot have many engineers with decades of experience)

I am going to take a gamble as say that there was only one ocasion when she was “being a jerk” towards Apogee, and that’d be the April Fools comic.

I’d put her troubles with finding a better job up to the fact that she has been gone from the “proffesional” life for about 4 years when she was taking care of Apogee. Without anything to put on her CV, it’s no suprise that she couldn’t find a better job, than a fast food joint.

Her visions were proven to work, but without substantial budget, it would be hard to make them “well known” enough for bigger companies to get interested in them.

If Jet would want to give her some “real” help, he could “fund her work” from a diffrent (anonymous) account, or give some other company a reach to her.

I think that if an enemy company (to Jet’s) would want to employ Delta, I am almost certain she would take on the offer.

It hasn’t been stated otherwise, so I’d assume it can fund her entertainment.
