First of all - Delta is not JUSTIFIED of her behavior. Her past is merely a flimsy EXCUSE to behave like a dick.  
She is NEVER justified to behave like a jerk towards her own daughter. (though retcon seems to tone her down a pinch)  
Second of all - she is so autodestructive that it resembles mental condition. And sometimes giving mental pantient what she wants can be disaterous. (proof- https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/real-life-stories/psychologist-blinds-woman-drain-cleaner-6552282 )
 
I simply do not like her. I cannot see Delta as anything but a coward. I mean, she had a 10 fucking years to acheive something.  
And during these 10 years all she managed to have is some junkyard and a dirty trailer.  
Despite being supposedly “brilliant” mare with high education.  
Despite being visionaire whose visions work.  
Despite being capable of running buisness. (if we assume her “junkyard” is capable of sustaining her addictions)  
Despite Jet not being around during this time. (if we asume P-Berry fics are still canon)  
It makes me wonder if she never met Jet she could ever amount to something.

But it seems that you don’t understand that what Jet and Apogee want for Delta wouldn’t be healthy for her. If she really did come back to him, even for Apogee’s sake, she would be stuck in a love-less relationship with a stallion that already cost her at least 10 years of her life. Do you think it would be “healthy” for Delta to come back to a stallion who got her drunk and pregnant just to keep her around, ruining her life in the proces? It doesn’t really seem that “healthy”.
 
Phisically, life in a junkyard isn’t very healthy. In case of Delta tough, I think it’s much more healthy from the mental point of view. Her life was already cut down by the alcohol, cigs and all the toxic stuff she has there. Even if she would go back to her “old life”, I wouldn’t expect her to live long enough to see Apogee go to an university.

No one ever said that Delta doesn’t have a right to be mad at Jet. What he did was awful, and I’m sure just about everyone agrees on that. What people are saying is that Delta needs to move on sooner or later, preferably the former, especially for Apogee’s sake.
 
Also, as for the “Deltabuse in comments” remark… that is inaccurate. I imagine that the people here simply want things to get better for Delta. Criticism of one’s actions because they are not healthy actions is not abuse, that is tough love. As the saying goes: “When I stop yelling at you, start worrying” as it applies to coaches. In this case, people criticize because they care. Myself, as well as many people here I imagine, just want Delta to have a happier life. But she can’t do that until she puts the past behind her and at least makes an effort to move on.

The above lesson is also relevant about “living legends”. I mean, can you imagine Delta coming back in such state?
