I agree. New born babies, even very first humans are likely that way, until some of humans are conscious and swallowed in fear enough to create religions and try to spread it, only works to those who haven’t have firm believes about nature’s truth of balance. Those who have firm believes about nature’s truth of balance and firm autonomy to live with clear life’s mission statements can be happy atheists, I think.

Interesting. Id like to think that such practices by these creatures indicates they recognize that forces beyond their or their groups control(most animals seem to not perceive a world beyond their own actions)have influence in their lives and these efforts are means to in their mind gain some control over those forces whether they be nature and/or some God like entity. That’s a definite sign of intelligence beyond animalistic instinct like howling at the moon,I wonder if dolphins can commit such rituals as well.

Not only that but Disney was thinking about making it 3 seasons long. Also, Alex almost had it end on Season 1. If it wasn’t for Jon Stewart (who was a fan of the series and contacted Alex Hirsch), the show may have not have gotten a second season at all.

Those are some good points. Babies are basically blank slates and aren’t mentally and emotionally as advanced compared to older people.
 

 
Funny enough, I recently read up on how some higher intelligent animals like chimps and elephants may engage in ritualistic behaviors similar to religion.
 
In the case with elephants, there were some reported incidents of them doing behaviors that could be interrupted as them worshiping the moon. They study the moon’s phases, they take tree branches and wave them at the waxing moon, take ritual baths during the full moon, and avoid the moon when they do something wrong.

Babies have no belief in anything since they are not yet capible of having any understanding of the world except maybe pain(thus life is pain as pinkie claims),what I’m saying is we cannot give babies a position on the intracy of existence. God can mean many things,it can be the Judeo-Christian God or just a idea of an powerful supernatural entity that holds influence in the world. Since Newborns are in fact dependent on (in their view) God like parents who protect and comfort them,then perhaps babies can in fact belive in God since they must conceptualize thier place in existance in relation to their parents somehow and as they form that Conceptualiztion are they then still atheist or are they now “believers”.
 
Now With that logic when does a child who is supposedly born an atheist stop becoming a atheist? When they are taught about a God,do they go back to a “natural state” if they become an atheist? Are animals atheist since they too cannot belive in anything at least to human knowledge. Can we claim babies have other postions on life,such as do not know what gender they are? These all silly questions but ones that come about once you make claim that everyone is born With a predisposed view on things.
 
Basicly I think babies are in a priomoral state where beyond certain basic animal instincts,they know the world only in a extremely vague and incorporeal manner ,a fluid reality which can change rapidly as they learn and experance new things,giving a new perception of life each day. In this view I don’t think it’s approprate to claim they hold any natural positions that can be compared to a philosophy of life like atheism or theism. They do not believe or believe in God or in much of the world for that matter for God is no more known to them at that point than the ocean floor. They will most likely never see either in their entire lives but can we claim that babies are born to lack belife in equal measure God and the ocean floor,someone will have to teach them both concepts after all. I think to try to claim they have particular stance on life’s matters with so little interaction with life itself to be quite silly if you’ll forgive me for saying so.

Do babies believe in God? No, so they’re atheist. Atheism isn’t the belief that there are no gods. You don’t have to know what a God is to lack belief in it, but you do if you are to have a belief about it.
