Maybe we were thinking things backwards…  
. What if the Mane 6 ( only them: SIX! ) end up in another pony world (or distant timezone) and then choose to REMAIN there for some reason?  
-> It would make that last scene against Sombra in S9E02 much more of a “keystone foreshadowing” [Starlight and Spike got reduced to “background ponies” there because they would not follow them…]

Out of curiosity, why do you think that?  
Personally, it sounds like the early seasons to me, which are my personal favorites.  
As well, just to make it clear, this is a theory. Hasbro hasn’t officially said what G4 will focus on from now on, but between their Facebook campaign one of the Mane 6 every month, the specials that have focused on them rather than Starlight or the students, and the non-animated content, like the musical, books, comics, and manga seems to focus on the 6 more than any other character.  
But until Boulder is done getting expanded, we won’t be seeing much animated content, simply from lack of resources.

From what I understand, it will be a very soft reboot. Basically takes place after Season 9, but viewers wont need to know anything about FiM to get involved.  
As for Sweetiebelle and the gang, we just dont know. If Best Gift and Rainbow Roadtrip are the model of what it will look like, it looks like it will mostly just be the Mane 6. They might reintroduce popular characters or develop new ones, but that is just my theory. It sounds like Hasbro wants the future to be the Mane 6.

If it’s G4 stuff, Claire still will voice Sweetie Belle. Tara Strong, John DeLancie and Madeleine Peters live in America too.

If Boulder Media does make more content with the FiM ponies. Whether it be a sequel series or soft reboot, do you think that Sweetie Belle will be written off or get a new voice actress? Claire Corlett is moving to America, so she won’t be able to voice Sweetie Belle anymore.

I feel, they just couldn’t bring themselves to hurt literally, the nicest pony in existence. But the rest of the cast, got it pretty bad. :) That’s why I can’t stand these SJW’s(Spike “justice” warriors) there the reasons I was saying all this, Spike is Twilight’s adopted little brother, and they have a brother/sister like relationship(even in Equestria Girls she treats him much more than some pet) but they just can’t see it, even Molt Down, some SJW’s just kept crying because of reasons, I’m serious, they won’t be satisfied unless it’s ends with Spike bedding all 6 ponies..(And that’s not a joke, seriously have you seen some of the creepy Spike fan art out there? One of them has been banned FOR life on Derpibooru, and that rarely happens)
 
Spike is doing fine, he’s famous in The Crystal Empire, has an adopted family(The Sparkles) both Twilight and Shinning see him as their little brother, he got plenty of love in “Twilight’s Seven”(The 200th episode by the way), and hasn’t been subjected to slapstick in a long time..

Right haha? Pinkie had a mental breakdown, RD got sat on, I feel like Fluttershy is one of the only characters to not get put at the center of physical slapstick.

That’s nothing, Danesaur, is a guy who will go to every single Spike picture and claim it’s Spikeabuse….despite it not being that. Spike”abuse” is fake, yes he has been subjected to slapstick, but then again, SO HAS THE ENTIRE CAST! Twilight got it really bad in Feelin Pinkie Keen and Spike even flattened her twice.
 
This show is not to be taken too seriously, it’s cartoon logic.

Dont get me wrong, we aren’t getting FiM season 10. I think Boulder really needs to do a soft reset of MLP. Same universe, keep marketing and toys, etc…, but allow themselves room to build their own character arcs and storylines.  
We might be getting that. All of the G4 content coming up is almost all focused on the Mane 6. No Starlight, no school of friendship, just Twilight and her friends.  
It is kinda nostalgic. Reminds me of the early seasons, like before Twi became a princess. Back when it was just 6 ponies.

Sure….And no, I think its time to reboot the characters, Spike for example, either needs to be rebooted or leave.

Well, Boulder said they are continuing it. Just not yet, which is smart given how small a studio they still are.  
Plus, for all the hate for EQG, it sells really well as a toyline, and is still Hasbro’s competition to Barbie and Monster High. They need to keep that presence from a business perspective.  
And from a narrative standpoint, it isnt that hard to continue it. If you want to be lazy, just keep them in high school. Not hard, though I really hope they don’t do that.  
They could graduate and just carry on. Most of them have jobs, so just replace school with jobs, and let either the friendship thing or super heroine thing keep them together.  
If they want to try something ambitious, super unlikely, but they can put the girls in college and roll with it.  
So, yeah.  
I dont think EQG is going anywhere. And it ain’t denial, a few months ago I was hyped as hell for a G5 reboot. Hasbro just went in a different direction.

Actually, Boulder’s quote is that they are not working on it at the moment, but not to take that as meaning that it isnt something they will be working on in the future.  
They literally told us not to say they are not doing EQG, and we did it anyway.

It is the end of an era 2010-2019 for MLP: FIM and 2013-2019 for EQG.
 
Now, EQG might be rebooted along side G5, but we don’t know yet.
