@Meanlucario
Don’t you see that was a joke? If she were purpousefully cruel to her, she wouldn’t have stoped once she saw her daugther’s sadness. By “not directly mean to her” I ment that none of her actions are directly made to make Apogee suffer. They are ethier “jokes gone wrong” or are directed at someone else. Whenever Delta realizes her actions hurt Apogee, she stops immidiately. This proves that she isn’t a “bitch to her daughter”.

To be honest, I think that Delta might have concidered Jet as a “partner” but not realy as “husband material”. Not to say that she didn’t love him, but she had her priorities, and I think it’s safe to assume that Jet wasn’t one of them. Probably she just concidred him to be a “high school crush” or something like that.

I discussed it on the ealier comic pages, but I think that Delta’s pride won’t allow her to do so. In her eyes, it would be liveing of someone else’s work. Besides, I doubt that Delta would do so, because of Apogee. She seems to see that her daughter doesn’t feel well with her Parent’s arguments. I think that Delta refuses to do so, because she doesn’t want to indirectly hurt Apogee by acting for her own “personal vendetta”. (Kinda the mirror of what Jet did to her)
@Meanlucario
She isn’t really that bad to her daugther tough. She isn’t ever directly mean to her. She gives her food (even tough she probably doesn’t have enough money to get good food for herself) and she still shows that she cares about her.
@AWGear
That’s the thing… Delta saw one path, her alone. She refused to even consider any other. This story might have gone much differently if she’d even given him some hope she might come back to him. Not everyone gets to be an astronaut, after all. If she’d said she’d be back if she couldn’t make the cut, maybe this would have been another story about a happy couple.
I’m not saying it was her responsibility to give him hope, either. Just that if she’d made different choices, he would have as well. She gave him no hope at all, and so, for love’s sake, he gambled, and for a time, he won.
@Meanlucario
I ment that in his eyes, what he did was for her. He seems to trurly belive that he wanted good for both of them. From outside viewer’s (and Delta’s) perspective, it’s easy to see where did the wrong thing.
And I generally prefere Delta, due to her tragic life, and the fact that even living in the junkyard, she manages to remain relatively happy.
@AWGear
I’m not saying he’s evil, and I’ve said that I like him more than Delta plenty of times, but your wording a few comments ago made it sound like he did that for her instead of for himself.
@Meanlucario
How did this come to the point that I am defending Jet? xD
Yea, his decision to keep Delta around was very selfish and wrong (getting someone durnk just to get them pregnant is wrong by all the means), but you can kinda see that all he wanted is for Delta to have a “good family life”. He could go about it in a much better way, but he ain’t completly evil tough.
@Meanlucario
But isn’t Delta the lonly, inteligent student? The one to focus on homework rather than partying?
I really like the characterization for Jet. I always felt like he wanted to keep her close because of how much he loved her, and wanted for her to live the dream she had. It makes him much more of a “tragic” character, as his intentions were pure, but lack of forsight lead to what happend.
@Meanlucario
I’d rather have her being less of a “social butterfly” this time. Makeing her much more shy and timid would be a nice change and character development ^^
This looks interesting. It seems like in this “re-booted” version of the comic, Jet is visibly hitting on Delta from the beguin, while in the original it looked more like “let’s be friends” kind of scenario.
Also, Delta looks much more shy in this one, which is super adorable ^^
I’m really interested in what affect will it have on the story.
