Hey, I never took fluid mechanics until late in my grad school career, and that was only because I suddenly learned I needed to take an extra class. Fluid mechanics is kind of cool, but between regular mechanics, quantum mechanics, thermal physics, E&M, and all the math you need to do everything, it’s not surprising that you wouldn’t take it in undergraduate, certainly not as anything other than an upper-level course (I mean…are you really doing fluid mechanics if you’re not solving PDEs?)
Of course, that’s more if Delta and Jet are physics majors like I was. If they’re aerospace engineerings, they ought to be learning rules of thumb…
Whoa whoa whoa… They’re undergrads studying advanced physics and chemistry (i.e., “rocket science”), and they’re not required to study fluid dynamics?! O_o? My opinion of the Equestrian education system just dropped several notches. We were required to take fluid dynamics as undergrad freshmen in uni. By the time I was old enough to (legally) know what a hangover felt like, I was taking quantum physics and general relativity.
