You know how when two characters finally become a couple, their interactions afterward tend to become less interesting?
This is probably why the artist got rid of Greg.
They never got rid of him. He’s still around and is alluded to a lot. You can see his name as a writer for his dream job the Manehattan Times as well as his bow tie on Twi’s Christmas tree. He’s living a life, just no longer in Ponyville and seems to be doing well.
Last we saw Sunburst he seemed to be doing well. Roseluck hooked him up like she said she would try to do. https://derpibooru.org/1774443?q=artist3Aadorkabletwilightandfriends2C+sunburst
Story’s don’t all finish in bite sized installments. Just like in real life things take time. Events happen, things slow down or speed up. Stories continue or fizzle. Nothing has ever been left to be forgotten in this series. It will come back if there is more to tell, and with Spike and Starlight, there is certainly more to tell.

I think the author’s reasoning is off as they were looking for an absurdly speedy response. Some of my most success post didn’t have quick reactions but just generated notes constantly days and weeks after the post. Also it could be a bit of what some have said, a reaction to not addressing the Starlight/Spike issue after a climax like that. Though I sure the author is saving a true resolution for the end of the series.
I bet if most of his readers were Sparlight fans, the way he ended their relationship is a big F You to everyone who wanted them to kiss and get together, so I wouldn’t be surprised if most of his followers stopped reading his comic now that there’s nothing left to get excited about it.
Doesn’t look like the artist is butthurt or desperate to me, its more like a “laugh at it yourself so it doesn’t hurt when someone else does” kind of situation.
i think he should focus more on the story and not making it too random. i catch up from the recent sparlight mini arc and then poof!
Also he proof you dont need to be a omega level artist to get some fans. so thats good. but if he wants to get even more atention then maybe he will need to improve his style and quality.

Well maybe if he concluded his story arcs in the comic and not offstage.
He was literally playing with the sparlight for 3 years or so and when he finally reached his inflection point, he simply concluded it in nothingness.

Mostly. The artist is working out the butthurt by making fun of it. That, and an excuse to show that this version of Spike isn’t as unflappable as he wants to appear. Also butts.
Wait, that’s illegal.
THANK YOU.

And Sunburst.

You know how when two characters finally become a couple, their interactions afterward tend to become less interesting? Well, with the way things went, I think the author is trying to avoid walking directly into that pitfall. The comic is aware of how people felt about the ostensible end of the Sparlight arc.

So is your Mom, but who cares. 😛
And Lily?
To be fair, people who read comics just to make fun at other people for liking a harmless ship are idiots.
I can agreed to that.
To be fair, it’s sometimes just plain fun to make the shippers sperg out.

I think he’s doing all right.
