CoD? Movie? Really? There’s a lot of good documental movies, where everything is shown truthfully.
Enemy at gates is a bullshit. Veterans of Stalingrad said, that events in the movie were distorted. I think, they know better about that battle, then movie’s director.
And besides.. do you really think, that Americans will tell you truth about Soviet history? Rhetorical question

the policy was actually real, but enemy at the gates and CoD certainly… embellished it.
Now even though I like to consider myself a WWII buff, my only knowledge of this comes from the movie Enemy at the Gates, and I don’t have any idea if anything like that ever actually happened.
