Daughter of the Element of Generosity and… Her cat? Okay, maybe we need an explanation.
 
Opalescence was adopted by Rarity’s family as a young baby kitten, and when Rarity moved into Carousel Boutique she did as well. The two had essentially grown up together so Rarity couldn’t imagine it any other way. But Opalescence wasn’t any ordinary housecat, she was actually an orphaned baby Abyssinian.
 
One day, Opalescence had somehow managed to escape the boutique. Rarity was of course, dramatically and frantically searching for her. But after three weeks, she had given up. But suddenly, Opalescence returned!
 
Walking on her hind legs… and talking…
 
It was very strange of course, but Opal explained that she had to leave in order to learn about her people. She travelled to the Abyss and was taught how to speak and walk properly, something far overdue for her. Young abyssians look like regular housecats, but must be raised by Abyssians and go through their coming of age ritual in order to become an adult.
 
Opal didn’t blame Rarity or her family for not knowing. It was more awkward on Rarity’s part. Suddenly her pet was a gorgeous lady. A sassy, sweet, and crude lady.
 
Their relationship began rockily but once ponies accepted what happened, everything worked out. Opalescence became a model for Rarity’s clothing, mostly for non-ponies like dragons and other abyssians. They two married soon after Opal launched her modelling career, and had a litter of babies.
 
This is one out of the litter, and technically the eldest. Her name is Rose Gold, a half-pony half-abyssian. Regardless of her mother being an element of generosity, Rose is a spoiled and selfish brat who gets what she wants when she wants. You could blame that on Rarity being TOO generous, or being blind to her children’s nasty behavior. Or, perhaps, it’s the Abyssinian genes, who knows?
 
Rosie loves to dress up and model, just like her mothers, but chooses the outfits very specifically, and will not take critcism. She loves being cute, loud, and colorful. She’s also a little chubby, having dresses specifically made to slim her shape. Just like Rarity when she was young, she wants to be swept away by her Prince charming, but is too catty and whiney to attract anyone.
