I thought Flutters suited an earth pony more, I also wanted to make her short cause then she’s closer to the ground.
 
Even in Trixie’s bad days Fluttershy always respected her magic tricks. Fluttershy would ask Starlight about Trixie and about the stuff she likes, often being too shy to ask her self. She was smitten there’s no doubt about that.
 
There was one occasion when starlight was ill so couldn’t be Trixie’s “glamorous assistant” so Fluttershy stepped in. Their chemistry was actually quite good and Fluttershy despite her stage fright, had a good time. To say thanks, Trixie took Flutters out for a drink. They were talking and realised that they had a lot in common and hadn’t really talked before. They made a habit of these nights out and just talked and talked. On one particular night Trixie got rather drunk. She basically confessed her love for Fluttershy and tried to kiss her. Fluttershy, who was sober, let it happen realising she was cool with it and she had sort of fell in love with Trixie too.
 
Anyway. They fell in love and got together. A few years down the line they were welcoming a foal to their family.
 
Trixie still does her magic shows out and around Ponyville but they’re less frequent. Fluttershy acts as her assistant and Their son just loves to watch. They all live in Fluttershy’s cottage which was extended with the help of discord to make room for everypony.
