By continuity I mean how Changelings work in this show. It was established that Changelings take love. They cannot receive love, mor do they long for love or to be loved. They see love as a food source and nothing more. “The Times They are a Changeling” went and completely ruined that. By higher-ups, I mean that these new writers have obviously never seen the show in their lives, so the executives at Hasbro had to correct them if they made a continuity error and asked them to go back and correct it when writing the second/third drafts of their scripts.

What continuity? All that was established was that Crysalis led her troops to Canterlot to feed on love, no more.  
Maybe they missed out on little fussy things that only someone who watched the show 24/7 over and over again would notice.  
And what is that “notes from higher ups”? You turning this into some espionage, like “huuuuhue let’s feed them false continuity yee that’ll piss ‘em off!”

Okay, no, she isn’t the latter. That’s what Pharynx’ point was, that the new way weakened the hive, and the episode conceded that he had a point, and they accepted that just because they’ve changed, that doesn’t mean they should be unprepared to deal with threats.
 
Unless proven otherwise, Chrysalis didn’t/doesn’t give a shit about her hive for altruistic reasons, and she failed to even pretend that she did when she abandoned them in the S6 finale.
 
It was always first and foremost about power for Chrysalis, the hive being an extension of her will. It wasn’t about benevolence.
 
But yes, she did abandon them out of spite.

BAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYA same old same old. He’s there to protect the jungle. He was pissed she was constantly stealing his stuff. We all get pissed. He was irrational. I guess nothing makes sense in this series if you think about in that stupid kinda way.

Not so much a plot hole. He protects the jungle… From the perspective of a guard-dog protecting what is left of an ancient civilization, perhaps wanting to maintain and repair ancient dark magic artifacts which could have terrible consequences when reactivated.
