Nope, distrating the trio isn't enough to make up for what he had done.
It doesn't mean he's off the hook for essentially trying to use other living beings as pawns.
He needs to be chewed out hard for that. So far, everyone that is mad at him is focusing on the mess his plan has caused, not the fact of the terrible thing he is doing of using other living beings as cannon fodder to sacrifice. Twilight would actually be horrified that Discord attempted to do that.
Cozy Glow's tricks will not work. When they locked her up, most likely they let Cerberus know about her trickery.
And what we saw of her failed attempt in Frienemies showed if her tricks didn't work. That's it, she's screwed. Completely powerless. If anyone is aware what Cozy Glow has done, that's it for her. Her tricks will never work since they are aware she is a manipulator, which means they will never listen to her.
Like I said for Chrysalis, the only threat Chrysalis pose is herself. Even if she doesn't stop, the fact still remains. She is no longer a threat to anyone but herself. Whatever she will come up with in that crazed state will obviously fail horribly now.
She is no longer in a state of mind to come up with ANY plan at all that can work. Most likely she would herself killed or get locked up or just to broken to try anything, just talking to that log there.
