Any whiny little brat online can spam a death threat at anyone and not actually do anything about it.  
But that’s besides the point, because guess what?  
Threatening someone’s life is pretty much the most lowly and inappropriate verbal action anyone can take.

I think it’s safe to say that the point of the show went over quite a lot of these people’s heads. I wouldn’t worry too much, it’s pretty much impossible to convince this lot (the ones acting apeshit, sending death threats & other stupid shit) otherwise & make them see their errors.

You don’t get to call yourself a fan of this show by having that opinion. You missed the point of the show. Completely. It went miles over your head. The point of the show is KINDNESS. That means compassion and respecting others. Every single person getting butthurt over the ending-to the point where they get angry enough to threaten others-missed the point of the show, too. They’re not good people. You’re not a good person for thinking that way.

Huh, you may have a point there…I certainly do hope this issue doesn’t cloak the problems with the finale.

A lot of people are jumping to defend the writers without actually watching the last episodes. Also, death threats are not real, otherwise these people would be dead. You’re also not supposed to mention that you’re getting death threats to encourage more of such behavior, any police can tell you that. So, these threats are not taken seriously or they’re used as an excuse. Big Jim probably knows he fuck’d up and doesn’t have anything further to say to defend it. The last airing is going to be really bad, since the people who have decided to not get spoiled will immediately be met with people who have discussed and pinpointed everything wrong with the ending of MLP:FiM months ago.

If Big Jim says there were I don’t doubt it. Between toxic douches on 4chan trolling and mentally unstable pony fans I wholeheartedly believe he and others associated with the show are getting at least a few. If you don’t think so you don’t pay much attention to how fandoms work. They attract a lot of good people but they attract toxic people, too. There are plenty of bronies who let shit like an episode not going how they like go up their ass a mile.
 
At any rate it’s important to believe people when they say they’ve been victims of abuse. The fact is it’s SO overwhelmingly stigmatized that few people say it for the ‘attention’. Not when so much of it is still negative. Plus Big Jim has certainly never done anything to indicate he’s that kind of person.

Yeah, this isn’t the first time people have attacked show staff or the first time they locked Twitter account because of it so nothing surprises me

I don’t like the finale either, but I agree death threats are basically always over the line…(not a bold stance, but still).
