Yeah, that was the comparison my mind went to – Equestria’s animals, both the actual pets and the supposed wildlife, all act like domesticated animals who’ve become so dependent on sapient supervision as to be helpless without it. Even creatures like elephants, wolves and giraffes are like cats or dogs who just can’t survive on their own anymore.
Probably because we kept them domesticated for so long
