I prefer to look for the most logical scenarios.
Some will tell me that I am wrong about certain couples, but I expect them to make arguments. knowledge researched to understand, belief justified by the same answer.

Because there is no other way you could hint it even further, visually anyway. Who else has that balding side sweep? She even has a cutie mark very similar to Sunburst.
Also Starlight personally training Luster in the art of magic combat could be super cool.

That all applies to being Twilight’s personal student as well. Or knowing about her accomplishments. Or knowing anything about Equestrian history.
I can’t imagine the child of someone who personally fought alongside Twilight to save Equestria through friendship would think that friendship is a waste of time. Luster Dawn would have at least known that Twilight and her friends were still close, since her parents would have been a part of that every now and again. It’s a decent theory, but it misses important contradictory details.

I refuse to accept this. I want Starlight as Main character and in post-Princess-Princess Twilight we could have Luster as main character and judging by her attitude she’s basically a more well-mannered Starlight, which I’m okay with.
Also I’m interested in how Luster interacts with Starlight. Please DHX don’t leave yet!

I think assuming Luster didn’t know Ponyville or the school was jumping to conclusions too. If you notice, it was the only place she visited smiling. It was also the only place that had a family of characters that directly acknowledged her presence. You can even assume as far as saying Luster knew Ocellus and Smolder. With the “other families” she clearly didn’t know them nor did any of them even tried to say hello to Luster.
You know what’s hilarious?
Starlight was Twilight’s very first proper student (Sunset was another thing) so it kinda makes sense why she takes a liking to Luster Dawn, which is the first Starlight Clone.
What’s even more hilarious is that, had we another season, it’d actually feature a Starlight Clone as THE Main Character. And considering she lives in Ponyville under Starlight’s direct supervision, we will also see MORE Starlight!
Dammit DHX, why pull the plug when it about to git gud?

Depends on your point of view, I like that I can interpret her as their half-sibling, while others dislike that theory, and that’s what is great about interpretation.
