Well, to be fair, I am the meandering type.

The part about ”benevolent reason to dislike metamorphosis” was kinda based on a talking point I’ve seen of “there just has to be a downside…” which of course has no proof.

You’re acting like that isn’t the case for Chrysalis.

Which part of my comment are you responding to with this?
What do we have to work with for Chrysalis?

Judging by what follows this statement, I don’t think you quite caught what I was throwing, so to speak.
Well… she obviously doesn’t care about the hive in any way further than as an extension of her ego,

What is this based on?
she’s willing to outright torture children, she was willing to let the Windigos turn Equestria into a frozen wasteland before ruling over the grateful ponies (due to her “saving them” after who knows how many would’ve died), and she was basically telling Twilight and her friends “you’ll never be safe from us!” as her last words, because she just hates them that much.

I assume this all refers to The Ending of The End. I have, on an earlier occasion, taken issue with judging the redeemability of the villains using the episode in which they are left decisively unreformed. I’ll just refer you to that, rather than subject you to what I can assure you would’ve been an overlong and painfully meandering explanation.
If there was anything remotely resembling a benevolent reason for her not liking the metamorphosis her hive went through, there’s no evidence it even exists, so we can presume it was absolute selfishness.

Technically, we can presume that. Whether or not we should is another matter. In any case, it isn’t stated.
Not all villains have to be sympathetic.

True enough, but I’d say that’s a matter for a different conversation.

When you think about, there’s something questionable about turning a kid to stone… But that’s non of my business..

Chrysalis is quite possibly the closest thing we have to a Complete Monster in this show. She’s obliterated the Moral Event Horizon multiple times.

Which I like actually. Chrysalis is the type of villain you can side against 100%. Not all villains have to be sympathetic.

@Amethyst_Crystal
I’d have to disagree. If any of the three can be called the least redeemable, I would have to say it was Cozy Glow, if only because so little is known about her real personality and background that there’s not really much to work with.
Scorch215

No Starswirled, you are still wrong, one small example of a person barely resisitng the magic of friendship does not prove you right, if anything that episode proves she can be redeemed since she almost was without any interferance from the ponies, just simply actually working together with some one and only resisted at the last possible second, a few more times of events like that and it will effect her.

Not to mention by the sheer number of villians redeemed you are still wrong even if one villian isnt redeem that doesnt prove you right considering the vast majority of villians have been redeemed.

@Amethyst_Crystal
Glad you see my point. Chrysalis is a complete monster through and through.

I still disagree with Starswirl’s original opinion that implies all villains are irredeemable,
but he’s correct that some probably are… or at least, extremely unpleasantly difficult to redeem.
Like say, Discord.

Chrysalis is definitely the least redeemable of these three though, for many reasons,
this moment where she convinces them all to stay evil being a big one of course.

It would be difficult to do any kind of therapy or guidance for her without some powerful form of magical restraint,
and I’m not sure if trying to reform someone against their will is entirely effective.
