Yep. I haven’t watched it in full myself so I can’t vouch for my own opinions yet (that being said there were things I liked and disliked from what I’ve seen and heard about the finale out of context). That being said, you’re not the only one I know that liked the finale. I’ve seen a few artists that uploaded finale related art mention that they liked it in their descriptions.

That’s a bold and completely inaccurate assumption to make. If you said that you didn’t like the finale, then that would be correct, if you said that most people didn’t like it, then you might not be correct either but at least you had the possibility to argue your point if you had anything to back it up with. However, ‘nobody’ means that there couldn’t be a single person who watched it who enjoyed it, and all I really need to disprove that is to point at myself.
 
Personally, I didn’t just like the finale…I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! It goes right up there with Beginning of the End, To Where and Back Again and The Cutie Re-Mark as one of my absolute favourite two-parters in the entire series.

I agree. I don’t agree with some of the writing decisions. (Grogar being Discord especially) but it was overall a good finale to me.

The finale could have been worse. Honestly, I am happy with the ending that we got. I actually wanted the 3 to be reformed and become family-like, but we cant have everything go our way. It is an ok ending for me.

Calm it down a little, guys. There is no need to start getting personal just because of disagreement.

…I just wish this whole finale was a joke. It makes me tear up with rage. I know you’re going to say it isn’t a joke, but it seriously isn’t fair. The finale is just one big continuity error.

Yes, they are. It gets a bit complicated but they’re more of a Tier B kind of canon.
 

 
Some franchises have a tiering system of canons. The main source material outranks the others. Take for example, The Star Wars franchise. Before the Disney buy out, they had a tiering system that was more or less something like this. The films are A tier, The Clone Wars Cartoon is B Tier, and the novels are C Tier.
 
Before The Return of the Jedi, there was a novel that existed that had Luke and Leia in a relationship. RotJ revealed that they’re siblings so that novel was rendered non-canon pretty quickly. But the other books were canon (at the time).

And those people would be wrong. The people responsible for working on the comics and EQG have said that they’re canon, so they’re canon.
 
Trust me. I’ve had episodes I dislike and stories I dislike (both for MLP and for other franchises) but I don’t deny that they’re canon if they are. Sometimes the things you may not like may end up being canon anyways.

And even if it was canon, they could have at least made Grog the final antagonist and not reveal him to be Discord, and reformed the LOD, and not shown The Last Problem taking place 20 years later. It’s wrong on so many levels. Some people don’t think of EG and the comics as canon while some people do. See what I mean?

They wouldn’t. But to be fair, you’re on anon. People may know the gender of a person if they have an account and mention their gender before. It doesn’t help that accidentally misgendering someone is an easy mistake to make online, especially if the person doesn’t know you. I’ve had people accidentally call me male before too.
 
As for people’s opinions on the finale, some people actually do like it or are mixed about it. While I’ve seen people who dislike the finale, I’ve also seen people who liked it too.
 
Like it or not, the finale is canon. A person can make it an AU for fan-related stuff. I know I am for some of my projects. But there’s not much else we can do about it. In a majority of cases, the fans can’t decide what is canon and what isn’t.
