I do think it is important for there to be at least some villains left unredeemed, it’s simply unrealistic to expect every last villain to become a good guy in the end, I just wish they would make done more with it.

My only issue is with the fact that they never turned their irredeemability into a plot point. It’s true that there are certainly people who are just simply bad and don’t want to change, and I think it would have been good to present a moral on how you should always try to redeem people, but also be willing to accept when a person refuses to change their ways. That could have made for a difficult, but ultimately good lesson.

Honestly I don’t think background info is needed too much for Chrysalis and Tirek, they are ancient power-hungry beings who are practically just ‘demons’. I think it’s cool to imagine Cozy is secretly a demon too, but who knows.
At least there’s always fanfics and possibly g5 since being turned to stone is reversible in mlp.

And that’s where the season really lost me. With the theme of reformation, this season would’ve been a glorious opportunity to look into the backgrounds of these three villains. We could’ve seen how and why they became so evil.
I was hoping they would take the route where Starlight finally helps reform Chrysalis,
but I think they handled the ’stay evil’ route as well as they could.
Still, this clip makes me kinda sad for what could’ve been….

I’m not sure about that, I mean, season 10 is indicated to take place sometime after the Ending Of The End yet before the epilogue episode.

Well to be fair, that only happens after you’ve murdered as many monsters, you’re pretty much beyond having the moral high ground at that point.
