Looks like someone is jealous of Discord getiing shipped with Fluttershy, Twilight, Celestia, and angry at his mistakes to make him look like a criminal to be banished in order to claim the waifu Discord had stolen.

I would say his potential was wasted rather than him just being the worst.

At least Discord learned from his mistakes and worked to improve himself.

Alright, here is the best breakdown I can find.  
Hasbro approached IDW and made an order for IDW to produce the 10th season of FiM. It will be fully in line with canon, AND be set to Hasbro’s expectations as the show is. This is not a part of the running comic series at all, nor is it a promotion for it. The running comic series will be on hold till the season has ended, then it will resume. Fans did get rightfully confused when IDW announced that they would be numbered in line with the comic series. However, in an interview, the lead producer clarified this was simply to allow them to show over 100 MLP comics made, and that season 10 is independant from the comic continuity.  
Now, as a fan, are there things I hope they add? Yeah, like Luna’s pet. But it sounds like they may not.
