Twilight turned into a damn Mary Sue. In the first few seasons she could make mistakes that mattered (see Pinkie Keen where she was made a butt monkey the entire episode and still never solved the problem or Winter Wrap Up where she learned she can’t just solve all her problems with magic or It’s About Time etc). When she became an alicorn all her mistakes were ham fisted and didn’t even matter as she always ended up solving the problem anyway.
 
It isn’t mandatory, but these are the mane 6 and 5 of them don’t have a legacy to pass on, even Applejack who’s main objective was having kids to pass the farm onto.
 
You don’t need to redeem all villains, hell I’m fine with it. But they literally had Discord set them all up for failure. Speaking of Discord.
 
>Tried to turn Equestria into a warped plane of chaos, but was petrified by Luna and Celestia.
 
>After 1000+ years the spell wore off to the point he could break it. His first acts were to do the exact same thing and bring eternal chaos
 
>Takes great pleasure in breaking the mane 6, but is petrified again
 
>Celestia wants to reform him the mane 6 to reform him for her so she can use him for stuff
 
>He immediately takes this chance to manipulate Fluttershy into not using her element and then returns to causing chaos, but has a cheap change of heart because he’d lose a friend that he’s been with for a day
 
>The first second a villain approaches him with power he immediately sells out the mane 6 and betrays them. Doesn’t change his mind until AFTER Tirek plays him like an idiot
 
>Nearly sent Tree Hugger to another dimension over jealousy
 
>Revived Sombra
 
>Teleported Sombra into the Crystal Empire
 
>Got the Tree of Harmony destroyed (one of his only weaknesses)
 
>If this weren’t a kid show Sombra would’ve crushed/impaled the mane 6 once he had them in that crystal prison
 
>Released Cozy Glow and Tirek from Tartarus
 
>Teamed them both with Chrysalis, explaining that working together was the best way to exact their revenge and obtain their goals
 
>Told them where and how to get a Superpowered artifact
 
>Nearly doomed Equestria had they succeeded (and honestly with Tirek’s power up + his mass power drain ability, he should have been just draining and defeating the army of normal combatants with ease)
 
>Instead of forgiving them and trying to give them the same redemption he’s gotten fed to him several times suggests to petrify them and casts the spell when he’s responsible for them getting to that point all with a huge smile
 
 
Why does he get redemption, but they don’t? At worse throw them in Tartarus. Don’t petrify them for decades, which according to Discord you stay conscious for.

Turning Twilight into a princess didn’t ruin anything, and why is it mandatory for someone to have kids? You don’t need kids in order to be happy, happiness comes from achieving something, having a goal and fulfilling it which is what the others were shown to be doing. If this is about the whole Twilight outliving her friends thing, alicorn immortality has never been stated to be canon. And the villains were not in a position to be redeemed, and they outright rejected it. Redeeming them would’ve only added to a bad habit that the show has been forcing onto us since Starlight.

They destroyed everything that made the first season magical.  
-Turning Twilight into this princess  
-Aging all the ponies and giving none of them kids except Pinkie  
-Failing to redeem any of the four final villains even though 3 of them started to see the perks of friendship
 
I could go on.

Ponyville. Shit. I’m still only in Ponyville. Every time I think I’m gonna wake up back in the Everfree. When I was home after becoming an alicorn, it was worse. I’d wake up and there’d be nothing. I hardly said a word to my friends, until I said “yes” to a party. When I was here, I wanted to be there; when I was there, all I could think of was getting back into the Everfree. I’m here a week now, waiting for a mission, getting softer. Every minute I stay in this castle, I get weaker, and every minute Grogar squats in the forest, he gets stronger. Each time I looked around the walls moved in a little tighter.
