Well Tails showed up before Knuckles did so if they do a sequel they need to introduce Tails first cause that’s literally sonic’s best friend in the world. Not to mention Amy is his biggest fan period. A story about Knuckles & Metal Sonic and such deserves it own movie in my opinion cause there is a lot of lore to handle there.
 
Now if they wanna mix the lore up a bit that’s fine but I just want it to make sense

The second movie maybe could focus on Knuckles, the emeralds, and maybe the construction of the Death Egg or Metal Sonic maybe. (You can’t have Amy’s introduction without M.S.)
 
While the movie looks better then expected, I’ll be surprised if it gets a sequel.

Okay fair enough. also Metal Sonic would more or less be saved for a 3rd movie I feel. Sonic 2 should focus on sonic meeting tails and possibly Amy. Cause it sounds like to me in this universe he doesn’t know Tails, Amy or knuckles for that matter.

If there’s a sequel, they have to have Metal Sonic. (If he’s not secretly in this one.)
 

 
The SatA.M. cartoon didn’t have them, though surprisingly AoStH & Underground did.

Green Hill looks so fucking good! I REALLY hope we get at least one full action scene there at the beginning or the end of the movie. Cause if you take a look at sonic he is carrying around a pouch full of the gold rings and I would venture a guess that Eggman gets so fixated with trying to capture sonic that sonic decides to have Eggman chase him back to his world and trap him there somehow thus beginning sonic and Eggman’s never ending battle.
 
Now IF this movie gets a sequel I imagine that they would have the next one take place entirely in Sonic’s world and possibly introduce Tails and Amy since he meets Tails canonically in Sonic 2 and this movie could play around with the lore a bit and have Amy introduced in this one at the same time as Tails and Sonic has to work together with Tails to save Amy from Eggman and stop Eggman from obtaining the 7 chaos emeralds.
 
Cause I have a STRONG feeling by the end of this movie Eggman is gonna get his hands on at least ONE chaos Emerald cause you CANNOT have a sonic ANYTHING without the chaos emeralds.

I like how they have sonic carrying around a pouch full of rings. Cause I always wondered where the fuck he kept them shits xD

As much as I still think the updated look is weird, it’s a significant improvement over the previous monstrosity. I’m definitely seeing this when it’s out.

The new trailer surprisingly makes it look much better then the old trailer.
 
Love how Green Hill Zone looks, the name “Robotnik” coming back, and the camera survalance bots remind me of the ones from SatA.M.

I still don’t have overly high hopes for the overall quality of the movie, but this is indeed a step in the right direction.

The only I issue have with the new design is that its so cartoony mixed with the mediocre CGI make him look super fake. Hopefully it will be more refined before release.

The new one is much better. Good on the studio for listening.

When companies listen to fans a little more, rather than pull a Disney and call them sexist, racist, bigoted homophobes, good things happen.
 
Now I’ll go see this movie.

While I didn’t hate the old hated design that set the entire internet on fire, I admit the new one is much better, more appealing, and looks more like Sonic.  
I’m glad the new design is kinda a comprise between “game/cartoon-accurate,” and “original new unique design,” and not entirely one, or the other.
