Description:

Made this one a couple years ago, after my mom killed herself. I was an idiot and started smoking like 2 packs a day when that happened. I've quit and then started up again a couple of times since. Can't seem to hold it off yet, but I'll get there. Vaping helps me smoke less than I would otherwise. I'll get it eventually. :)

And hey for all the smoker's out there, I'm not saying we shouldn't quit, cause we should, and I know I will, but if anybody gives you shit, make sure you inform them that being 30 pounds overweight is as bad for your health as smoking a pack a day (because it is), that depression shortens your lifespan more than smoking (because it does), and that everyone has their vices (because they do.)

I was angry and panicking when I got the news my mom jumped in front of a semi after a long hard battle with her depression and alcoholism and other shit. My thoughts were racing and in a limited state of clarity at the time, and I latched onto whatever I could to survive and not just join my mom. Cigarettes are pretty popular in the hood. Maybe it was monkey see monkey do. Idk, but that's all I'm gonna say about that and I'd prefer not being blamed for something that I already admit was stupid, and already learned a lesson from (don't start doing a new addictive drug when you're panicking. Go to the looney bin if you have to.)

And you know what? Stories like mine aren't as uncommon as you might think. I ain't religious or a Bible thunper, but I'm reminded of some wise words from Jesus here- Don't judge people. He who is without sin, cast the first stone. (In reference to a group of people throwing stones at some "wrongdoer" or "sinner.")

Drinking is only appropriate in very mild moderation, at least for me. I probably average a couple drinks a month. If someone else wants to, by all means, that's their choice (or in some cases their addiction.) But more people are alcoholics than they realize. By definition, somewhere between 10 and 20 percent or more of the American population has a drinking problem, and I ain't about to go get myself one again. I already had my wild child days. Nuh uh, no more hangovers, extra induced psychological problems, and drunk shit like that for me, no thank you.

Perhaps, but in the end, it’s their choice to start in the first place. So long as you knew what you were getting yourself into.

Big tobacco sucks, but I would never steal something like that. Like it or not, they're by far not the worst evil these days, and they still employ average people just trying to work a job. It's not like people would just all stop smoking if RJ Reynolds and Phillip Morris had to shutdown. You'd end up with a bunch of crime and shit related to resulting tobacco black market. One could argue we are already seeing a rise in crime due to the high level of poverty many smokers experience, on top of the fact that they are paying extreme taxes on cigarettes that make the situation worse. The best thing you can do to fight the spread of tobacco addiction is vote for congressional representatives who promise to further regulate (but not ban) the industry in sensible ways, like raising the smoking age to 21, and banning all advertising of cigarettes, not just on TV.

Also, I'm not saying you're doing this, but to people in general, stop harping on smokers who already have tried and tried to quit smoking all the time. Check on them and offer help, but they're ultimately the victims, not the perpetrators. Addiction is a mental and physical health problem, accompanied by neurological changes in the brain. What one does with an addiction, what choices they make to combat it, and wether or not they just ignore it instead of trying to get help and such is a choice, but ultimately addiction itself and even to a degree, one's resulting behavior, is scientifically proven to be not a choice.

Hahaha, not a chance in hell. I ain't about that life. Biggest theft I'd ever pull would be some groceries or something at Walmart if I or a friend really needed it and I couldn't afford it otherwise.

You should consider stealing your cigarettes at the very least. At least you won’t be giving your money to the big tobacco.
