Background Pony #FC1B
There’s absolutely no superior ship. Just opinions. I love Appledash in FIM. I love Discoshy too. But in Equestria Girls I like Flutterdash and Rarijack.

Both are opinions. Number of images of people put in on this site it didn’t mean anything (fan art Rarijack, AppleDash ect…). Yes Ashley Ball likes her characters but doesn’t mean are official pear. On pony side “appledash” is up to the viewer to view it (as only friends or a pear as people can decide) only lyrabon is the only lesbian couple (yes Scootaloo aunts too). On the other hand Rarijack in EG is more noticeable but authors decide not go for it (main writers of the EG show and rollercoaster friendship was the only chance of “rarijack”)(bevin stated it little bit and you can read more from her in her tumblr) only timbertwi is only pear in eq. Bevin and most of the crew ship Rarijack (EQ).

This argument can be carried on indefinitely, both sides have their pros and cons of this or that shipping. I’ll stand by my opinion. I just feel bad that authors do that. You know it’s Christmas, and somehow I don’t want to spoil this day by arguing about who loves whom more. Merry Christmas!

Actually, AJ and Rarity had that stallion from “Simple Ways” ( season 4) that Rarity had a crush on but he had a crush on Applejack.there is also Spike But let’s leave that aside, doesn’t matter.

Rainbow being shipped with male companion (which she never even showed concrete felling for) doesn’t change the fact that she was shipped with AJ multiple times, as does the author having a favorite ship not change the fact that the canoncity of the ship is questionable.

And, again, Rarijack has as much concrete “reasons” as AppleDash, the actual number of images in relation to another doesn’t matter, only that fans have reasons for both and they are both equally valid. The author only decided to tease one of them over the other. Although it may not necessarily be because of favoritism, since Rarijack is in a similar situation in Equestria Girls.

If you decide that the words of a writer of a show with multiple writers or of a spin off game ( and a terrible one at that) are Canon… that’s on you.
legion2709

@Star Seeker
The author, the show media personality, he should know that he will listen to everything that he says will be Canon. I could also write an article that would describe dash as having no romantic interest in AJ or any of the other mares. Soarindash has 4,400 images on the site, they’re only 500 behind Appledash, so we’re almost evenly matched. And at the moment, we’re losing to Rarjack with his 6212 images on the site. It turns out the fans have a real reason to believe that in the final Rarity was supposed to be with AJ. And the fact that the series is dominated by a female cast. In 9 years, AJ has not had a single potential male partner, nor has Rarity. Pinkie pie has a Cheese Sandwich, rainbow dash for 9 years has acquired male companions, such as Soarin, Quibble, Breeze.

There is a difference between the writer’s opinion and the work itself, the writers can like the ship and it can still be ambiguous. This is especially important in a show with multiple writers like MLP, since in this situation the writers like a ship ( AppleDash) and decide to leave an ambiguous scene of it and the fans/unofficial works decided to run with it. This doesn’t mean that the writer is trying to push a ship, it means that the ship is popular with fans and, in the case of this image, the unofficial works decided to canter with them ( I believe this isn’t the first time the game loft game did something like this). and this doesn’t happen just with AppleDash, it also happens to FlutterCord, which is a straight ship. The gender here is clearly irrelevant, what is relevant is the fan reaction.

And dude, remember that link I already gave you twice? It completely destroys the idea that RD “got with” AJ because of her looks.

If that was all, then the AppleDash tag in this site wouldn’t have almost 5 thousands images that were made in over 9 years.

The fans have actual reasons why they ship RD with AJ, and many of them are cataloged in the aforementioned link.

Also, considering this show has a predominantly female cast, it’s not a surprise most of the ships are between girls. Why should RD be different? Saying that RD shouldn’t be a lesbian because of her appearance is just as offensive as saying that she is a lesbian because of her appearance.
legion2709

@Star Seeker
Because the authors wrote that they left it for interpretation. But at the same time they all continue to press in the direction of Appledash. A good author would say “Go ahead and decide for yourself” and then say nothing about it. Then why did you even have to say it? I’d say, “Yes, they’re lesbians,” and people like me would get angry, and then they’d be resigned. And so it turns out, he supposedly remains neutral, but at the same time no. Have us in Eastern Europe there is such expression of not know, correctly I his’ll translate, sounds so “All animals are equal, but some are more equal other” Here the same the situation, fantaty rainbow dash lesbians and rainbow dash heterosexual are equal. For some reason, all support the first. I think the reason why RD was with AJ was because of RD’s looks and nothing else.

Why are the writers and the stereotype so entangled with the AppleDash ship to you? And in what regard are writer “poking” you ( involving the ship)?

Considering that even AJ and RD’s VA likes the ship - and the writers and VAs have a close relationship in regards to the writing of the show, I know - why is it that this is such a problem to you? If it is because of the stereotype, that’s clearly not a problem considering the amount of people that ship it ( and the fact that TV tropes, a wiki, has a section about it), so it does not contribute towards an offensive mensage that you think it implies.
legion2709

@Star Seeker
Comparing writers as politicians, I don’t mean that they introduce “Politics” into the show, I mean that they as politicians say one thing, feed us promises, and behind our backs do a completely different thing. I try not to pay any attention to it, but you know, when you’re being poked in the wrong direction, it’s kind of hard to sit there and keep quiet.

And people have their own reasons as to why AppleDash is the best thing ever or whatever, as shown in the the TV Tropes page, which, by the way, isn’t an article, but a collection of tropes/moments of fictional works. They’re being semi-objective there. The AppleDash ship didn’t came out of nowhere and for no reason.

…The writers aren’t acting like politicians, they’re acting like writers (good or not) who find the fans reacting to a certain ship that they set up amusing. It’s shipping, plain and simple, there’s no deep “political” view involved.

And there IS something else you can do. Ignore it and move on. The show didn’t end the exact way you waneed. So what? complaining about it isn’t going to help, only annoy other people who don’t share your opinion. If you want to complain, go to the Unpopular Opinions thread of the forums, there is nice people there who can give an ear or two
legion2709

@Star Seeker
I try to think with my head, not rely on all sorts of articles. I have my reasons for saying that Appledash is a mistake.

I don’t like politics either, but if the writers of the show behave like politicians, there’s nothing else to do
legion2709

As in, they show direct affection to each other with words or body language

What episode is this? Where did they quarrel competing with each other? Or in a series where they quarreled competing with each other? Rarity and AJ at least hugged more often.

Because they like the ship. They don’t care about its canoncity or the gender of the parties involved.

So you can say to everything, for example trump does not care about the involvement of the parties, he just builds a wall

Concrete. As in, they show direct affection to each other with words or body language. Read the link above, the moments you’re referring to are probably there.
legion2709

AppleDash doesn’t have any more (solid) hints than Rarijack does.

Really? I probably don’t have enough fingers to list all the times AJ and Rarity were together. Even its authors understood this.
legion2709

@Star Seeker
But if this scene doesn’t prove anything, why does everyone say it’s Canon? Why does Mike Vogel put them in a collage where other gay characters are depicted, why does the game hint at their relationship to me? Why does everyone say that there is no direct confirmation but every asshole tries to hint at it?
Star Seeker

@legion2709
Rainbow had a lot of teasing with multiple members of the cast, including Applejack.

The AppleDash scene doesn’t even confirms the ship, just implies, same as the aforementioned moments.AppleDash doesn’t have any more (solid) hints than Rarijack does.

And how does that confirms that stereotype? Because Rainbow “fell in love” with no “hints”? Just because a romantic wasn’t hinted ( concretely) doesn’t mean that she is a stereotype. Rainbow doesn’t need to be shown being a lesbian as much as she doesn’t need to be shown that she is straight, she gets with who she wants to get with, period.
legion2709

@Star Seeker
Exactly! Were, and was it somehow shown that RD is a lesbian? Were there any hints to that? Was she expressing an interest in AJ? No! She didn’t do any of that. There were more hints that Rarity and Applejack were getting closer, giving each other gifts, spending time together, and helping each other out in a difficult moment. It made more sense that they’d become more than friends in that time. And the that was shown in 26 series of… Josh thought, “ Hmm… two thumbs will be lesbians… That’s great!“It doesn’t fit at all. It looks like a confirmation of all the stereotypes Lauren fought against
Star Seeker

@legion2709
That… doesn’t make sense.

Lauren was upset because people were defining Rainbow Dash as a stereotype just because of her appearance. If Rainbow Dash IS in fact a lesbian is not the problem, but the way people were treating her as a stereotypical lesbian was.

Rainbow can still be a lesbian, but not be an offensive stereotype. And you acting like her being an (implied) lesbian in the show is offensive is, by itself, offensive to the people who are assigned that stereotype AND Lauren Faust.
